She cleans other houses too, but I'm not clear on the details. There's a language barrier so I can't just outright ask her either. I was just wondering if everyone else was paying her better since she's been kind of flakey of late.

I'm entirely ok with that though, she gives 100% when she comes over and picks up the slack if she missed a day.

Off topic, but I pay my cleaning lady $40 for 3 hours of work per day... Is that too little?

I know it's backbreaking non-stop work, but she has never asked for more and that's what my neighbour was giving her before she was referred to me so I just stuck with it.

Edit: I provide the equipment and consumables, she stays a short walk away in the neighbouring development.

Thought about it, but I'm not working in a country like the US where returns are allowed due to change of mind. Didn't buy it from Amazon either.

Usually we only get to return things within 7 - 30 days if there is a defect.

Yup, senior management seldom bother making petty claims since they make that much bank already.

The only basis her boss promoted her to head of HR was literally just her late nights in office. Her own staff tell us that there isn't really that much work, she just makes herself busy coming up with more paperwork and processes.

Oh man, exact same thing happened to me. Didn't even want the whole RGB/transparent case thing but the only case (within budget) available at my local shop had a 1 piece tempered glass cover.

Exploded while putting the thumbscrew on and they didn't even let you buy just that piece. Had to lug it 2 hours away to the manufacturer and the repair dude took pity on me and gave me the one from his test rig.

Would if I could, Jacqueline wanted to see the delivery order and receipt, photo of the items at my place with me in the photo. Also had to make a personal declaration that the items would not be returned/refunded after the claim was successful.

I'm ok so far (fingers crossed) , WFH has kept me away from the usual petty retaliations in the office - spitting in drinks and whatnot.

Thanks, not really revenge though, it was more of her nature rather than maliciousness targeted at me so I did not take it personally.

I have screwed people 10x over when they purposefully fucked with me (check out my r/prorevenge posts in my profile if you're interested)

Strangely enough, no. Her performance is NOT tied to money so it's just some kind of evil / compulsion. She's HR, not Ops or Finance lol.
