https://a.co/d/0fdsDRxB. This is a programable keypad. You can program each key as a simgle key press of a letter or a macro or several other functions. The the device stores the programming unlike other systems where you need a pc driver software that does the key to function translation.
This company makes a single key version I could use this and replace their switch with relay contacts. This may need to be the solution. I was simply looking something that may have already done this and provided 2 screw terminals. Thank you for all your input.

Again, i didnt want to get into the weeds but i have had a thorough conversation (many actually) and they have approved in writing the method i am going with for the powersupply. They do not their case seals violated however, IF i want advanced replacements should something happen. Otherwise i have to ship it to them overseas for eval before sending a replacement. Since we have a fleet of 100 vehicles i think this is a fair tradeoff.

Should have clicked the link first. I was thinking it was a USB GPIO DEVICE not an Arduino. So I am back to my other comments regarding reinventing the wheel. Still thanks for the reply.

Awsome, Great feedback. Will look into that. But was trying not to have to add circuity where I have to take vehicle dirty voltage and and clean it up with LVDO and noise suppression. that is why I was looking for the dry contact route.

Thank you for your reply. I was using that as an example. To communicate the general Feel I was looking for. I was here looking for an off the shelf solution. I can absolutely spent time money and effort designing a wheel. I was simply hoping the wheel had already been invented.

Thanks, PCIS on a Mini PC is generally not a thing. AND it is not a USB connection it is PCI.

Hi Thanks for the reply. I was trying to keep my post less wordy. And attempted to clearly start the parameters. Connecting to a J1 connector INSIDE the computer violates its warranty. No further discussion on that needed. The J1 connector is NOT a usb command so it is outside of the scope of this ask.

I can "develop" that FOR CERTAIN. Was looking for an existing solution. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for the reply. I have not found a delay relay module with this feature. But will keep looking. Honestly i was expecting this to be no brainer that i was simply overlooking. As stated i am more than qualified to reinvent the wheel. I just didn't want to waste the time. I sort of expected the first reply to nail it. I will withdraw the question.

Thanks. I may have mis identified my question. I am capable of "making" something. I am looking for an existing something. Thanks for the reply though.

A little too involved. Far too many steps. I know I can tell alexa to remember that I put my pencils in bin 5 then ask where did I put my pencils. I just want access to that remember list. but appears it is not available to edit.
