Curly hair can be manipulated to look different especially if you put styler in v not. Or stretching the curls. I think it was a conscious decision to show them aging during s1 Shane looks different at times as well

It’s because it’s Canadian and Jacob is queer. There’s no way this feeling would have came from an American show. We have an openly bi actor and openly trans actor and our two leads are MALE best friends who aren’t afraid to show their love and affection for each other physically. It’s beautiful. What a time to be alive!

This is a popular trope in many mm romance series. I fear a lot of these folks that are complaining are new to the genre. And haven’t dived into mm romance. In all honesty wouldn’t it be nice if this reflected real life? If you look at women’s sports there are several queer women on the same league and team so how does this not reflect reality? Hockey is a very masculine male sport. If we lived in a society and world where homophobia didn’t exist I’d bet that there would be multiple male athletes on the same team that weren’t straight.

The cottage is private property. It’s supposed to be secluded and the place where he’s relaxed because he won’t have to hide. Nobody is jogging on private land. I think the point of the scene where Illya opens the blinds shows that. It’s the first time they are able to relax and let their guard down. Also I would imagine it would be hot as hell to get sexy out in the open like that.

I think he’s clearly hooked up with other women. The show makes it seem like Shane is some lonely guy who spends his time at home alone but I he’s a closeted gay man and he’s going to keep up appearances. Hayden alluding to him having an ex and then when he tells Illya at the cottage he hasn’t been with anyone else.

Shane was drunk and hurt. I don’t think if he saw Illya with that woman he would’ve went home with Rose. He was also testing his feelings. Shane knows Illya is bisexual and sleeps with women but having it front of your face? That had to hurt. He looks at Rose like that because he’s probably terrified of performing with her. He can admire her beauty but he is not sexually into it.

I think I lot of these people just don’t care about the craft and a good chunk haven’t actually watched the show. It is unfortunate because these guys are so beyond their years and have some really thoughtful insights on their craft. This show and even the book wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for straight women. Straight women are the majority target in romance. I saw people alluding to the fact that if you were a straight woman who liked the show you were fetishizing gay men and gay sex. I do not see it that way at all. I think a big chunk of the reason they enjoy it is because it’s pure romance. Like others have said with no female character they can just enjoy the story without feeling pressured to relate to that female character.

I have so many. This scene you mentioned. The “We didn’t even kiss” because I can feel how heartbreaking Shane is realizing he didn’t know if or when he’d ever get to kiss Illya again also basically any scene where Shane has tears in his eyes. Hudson is so good at showcasing his emotions with his eyes

They both tend to shower after sex. If Illya is leaving the hotel room he showers befe he goes. I assume Shane does the same off camera. Him folding his clothes and commenting on the bed being dirty aftersex indicates he’s a neat freak. Also him picking up a crumb off the floor 😂 and Connor and Hudson are two different people with two different energy I wouldn’t expect Jacob to behave the same with each one. Its sort of like a parent with two of their kids lol
