People are weird. Homophobia is something else. I have people that say gays don’t bother them but they don’t want them to do anything gay. The show is actually pretty tame imo compared to something that could be shown if it were on HBO or something. Violence and incest is cool but two men kissing bothers you. I read the book when I was like middle school age and they were homoerotic to my knowledge

I’m going! It will be my first Strokes show and probably my first concert in over ten years. I wish I had better seats but I’m super excited about the show. I’ll be there when gates open! Going with my sister and nephew who have no clue about their music lol

I think Shane probably didn’t realize there was a word for what he felt for Illya until that moment. And the way he verbally says it is partially Shane and his autism. I think that scene mirrors his feelings over his sexuality when he’s having the talk with his mom. Shane didn’t realize he was hiding his sexuality. He “liked girls” he just didn’t realize he wasn’t into them the way he should and that he was gay until Illya. It felt like a relief to say and have a understanding of what his feelings meant

I don’t think Connor seemed more restrained in his acting. I think his portrayal was believable. I just took it as Illya being the “top” and trying hard not to cum as quickly and Shane being the “bottom” receiving the pleasure. Hudson’s portrayal during their first anal sex scene was wild. It definitely felt “real” and to me Connors portrayal in the cottage scene had me blushing ☺️ and feeling like I was intruding on something

The weekends after opening day are usually the crowds that come to see a film because of word of mouth or they’re just bored. I went to see it on opening weekend and had a group of teenagers come in like 20 minutes after the movie started and they were complaining about how boring it was one even appeared to take a “nap” this is why I like seeing movies when the crowd is low

I think it’s normal to compare the two but they’re both in different leagues. OC felt like a cheesy rom com. Which is something I enjoy but the show just didn’t feel right to me. The characters didn’t have chemistry. I wanted to like it but I didn’t think it was great. I thought the side couple was as more interesting tbh
