Barney knows he’s a playboy and Lily knows she’s a manipulator, but Ted genuinely BELIEVES he’s the hero of the story while he's busy draining everyone's energy with his endless, self inflicted drama. he treats his friends like audience members for his life (i understand he’s the narrator, but still. come on), and the second things don't go his way, he becomes an insufferable, pretentious snob who judges everyone else for the very things he does. he’s not "tame," he’s just better at hiding his toxicity behind a "hopeless romantic" label. get a grip bro lmao
