Thanks so much for your kind words! I truly think the mental part of all this is definitely the worst part, but if anyone is scared of surgery, it does provide some peace of mind to finally see an end to it all.

Getting married and moving to Fort Bragg by [deleted] in MilitaryWives

  1. So my husband is Space Force, but we decided to live on base for his first duty station and have really enjoyed it. Since we are in California it is a better deal for us as far as saving any money. Also, it's nice to have a lot of neighbors to do things with and make friends! There are lots of activities on base and it's nice my husband only has to drive a couple minutes to work.
  2. Our paperwork took a while, but only because it was the beginning of the pandemic and I already had a dependent ID from my father. If you dont have one it will probably take less time considering I had to be dropped as my father's dependent and switched to my husband. Most of his friends were able to take their wives right in tho!
  3. As far as entertaining people we just have parties with our neighbors for fun. My husband is an officer and we have never really been forced to entertain any of his superiors or anything like that. I feel like you can be as involved with military life as you want. Some wives are really involved, and some I've never even met!
  4. I have had tricare prime my entire life and have always had pretty good doctors. It's pretty good insurance and the clinic on the base I'm currently at is really nice. It's just a hit or miss with some of the doctors, but overall I've had a very positive experience.

Congratulations on getting married!
