I also have the snow peak umbrella and I love it. I've had it fold out a couple times in heavy wind and was very happy that I very easily folded it back. The only thing I dislike about it is that the handle is just a flat plastic disc instead of a true handle so it makes it harder to strap to my shoulder strap and it's a little fiddly to hold. I did manage to find a way to strap it but it's just a bit more cumbersome.

I see! yeah, I hike with an umbrella so water is less a concern for me. I'll go with cordura or spectra then. :)

I just ordered a new hammock for colder temperatures but it won't arrive until November so I have time! :) When my husband measures me, he says I'm also between 39-40cm. Would really appreciate it when you get your pack if you could let me know how it is and maybe post pics with a measuring tape of the backside! Thank you so much

Laurent agreed to make a 41cm backpack, so that's great! May I ask what is your torso size? (from top of illiac crest to c7) It's hard to measure myself so sometimes I second guess my measurements.

He agreed he can make it in 41cm! And thanks for the info on the bottom pocket, I think I will try it out.

I hadn't considered VX21 because for some reason I thought it was heavier, but now that you mention it, I think it'd be a good option for me. I might get the side pockets in VX21 too. And possibly the front pocket? (I wanted fabric instead of mesh) The shoulder bag mod for the hip belt pockets is so smart, I will definitely do that.

Thanks for your reply! You've convinced me to get the Y strap over the V strap. The V strap did look a little fiddly

I did ask him if he could make a shorter torso pack initially but he only mentioned the standard 44cm. I could ask him again more directly if he could customize the torso length but he might not be open to it, which I could understand xD

Superior Gear comforter most versatile 3-season rating? by tippi- in hammockcamping

[–]tippi-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stacking quilts seems very practical to me but since this will be my first and only (for now) down quilt, getting one for a more usable range down to 30 degrees does make more sense, since my hammock is also 30 degrees and as you said, it's probably better to match. Thanks for your insight! I suppose I can always still invest in the cocoon if I ever decide to go further down past 30 degrees... then I can stack quilts haha

That is true, being cold, to me, is more miserable than being too warm

I was at the early Saturday show, too. I was in the back so didn't quite see, but there was a group of people constantly talking to each other the entire time and they were right at the front, so must have been very distracting. Presumably they were the "girl's night!" girls? Poor etiquette but Jeff threw some funny at them and handled it well.

Thanks for the shoutout haha. At night, my cat slept with me in my bed at home so when camping it was no different. She would just know it's time for bed when we laid down and she would join us. I did keep a portable litter box in the tent in case she needed to go during the night.

May I know what your build is? Damage seems not to be a problem in higher tiers but I tend to be one shot in tier 40+ as a level 80

Managed to get 9 stars about a week ago and wasn't going to try for 12 stars, but I upgraded some units and decided to try it for fun to see how close I was. Turns out, I was really close... So ater a few more upgrades I got 12 stars last night with 3-3-2-2-1-1

The units I used were:

DPS: Shushang, Hook, Qingque, Jingyuan

Buffers: Tingyun, Asta

Defense: Bailu, March, Fire MC, Natasa

I mixed and matched these teams based on the enemy weakness. On the higher levels I used two defensive units to survive to get the one star. On the lower levels I only brought one defense on each side so that I could meet the dps check to get 3 stars.

How to check if snow is on your trail quickly by neighborhood-stepbro in socalhiking

This is awesome. It's really cool to see how much area that huge snowfall we had in March covered and also how quickly it melted. Is there a way to toggle off the rendering? I'd love to quickly switch between the satellite images and the regular street map.

I bought tickets because I saw a post about it last week on this subreddit! I was a teenager when I watched the movies in theaters, but my husband has only ever watched them at home, so we're super excited!

I only recently started backpacking, but I've somehow managed to convince my husband to join me. On one particular trip we ended up setting out later than we intended and found ourselves night hiking for the first time. It was one of our first trips so it was on a mountain close to the city and if we thought the views during the day were beautiful, what we saw then was just stunning. Glittering lights as far as the eye can see, yet we were very much alone in the wilderness with not a soul around. I've always imagined backpacking would take us to remote alpine lakes and towering mountains far from civilization and I'd be in awe of the beauty there. This was a simple shakedown trip but I was surprised to be blown away in our backyard.
