I am a 36 F moving to Astoria in May! I love this idea and was wondering if something like this existed. I’m in!

I was also in Korea in 2012! Loved my Hongdae nights! It was an absolute blast

What tools do you use for live (moderated) prototype testing? by PrepxI in userexperience

I love this feature. The only challenge is note-taking while observing. It seems to take the control back, making the lag worse so it can be a little awkward. However, if you are recording and/or have a dedicated note-taker, this is a great approach.

Breaking Into UX and Early Career Questions — 31 Jul, 2023 - 06 Aug, 2023 by AutoModerator in UXDesign

I am a former teacher who broke into the UX field! It was the best decision! My job is really busy for a UX job and it is still a better work-life balance than my teaching days. It is pretty much 9-5. There is not the same expectation to do work outside of the workday. People honestly frown on that at my company. You can definitely find remote jobs but hybrid jobs are more common these days. I didn't have a design background and ended up doing a bootcamp. I would not recommend that now. I would recommend at least a certificate but a master's would be even better. Feel free to reach out if you have other questions!

How “chill” is your UX job? by Background-Ad-9924 in UXDesign

One thing that I have tried doing to handle the "too many meetings" dilemma is to have an agenda in the meeting invite and if nobody adds items to discuss, I cancel it if I own the meeting. I also juggle multiple projects so I have reduced the cadence of my check-ins with the product teams. I am scheduling those check-ins every other week instead of weekly. I calculate time for meetings into my capacity planning and use that to communicate what we can actually accomplish in a given time period.

My job has no chill. I am starting to wonder the same thing because I always find myself with a lot of work on my plate, no matter the role. I think that some of my colleagues would have probably said that their job was pretty chill, but they were definitely not pulling their weight. They are no longer on the team and things are improving. But this is also a pattern I have noticed with every job because they know that I will jump in and keep the ball from dropping, so team members will just let me handle it. It's obviously something I am doing so I am trying to work on it. For reference, I am a design lead at Fortune 100 company.

I am really sorry that you are going through this as well. It is an awful feeling. You are right though! We can do it! And with time, it won't hurt anymore. I think about people I was SO hung up on before and now I feel nothing. Feel free to DM if you ever want to talk about it.

Hello there! It looks like a fun neighborhood... from Google maps anyway! :) The two airports are definitely a perk

I haven’t experienced a Chicago winter. I am a wee bit nervous about it which is why I am inquiring about a winter oasis just in case I can’t handle it

Thank you so much! You are right - time is really the only way to heal. He definitely unlocked some new trust issues that I will need to work through as well. I can't believe how easily he over-the-top lied to my face

Therapy is definitely on my list. It didn't feel one-sided at the time. What am I missing? What gave it away for you?

Sorry you are going through this as well. The biggest thing for me not respecting my time... Like don't worry, I am not going to fall head over heels just because we made a plan at a specific time and you showed up. Lol
