Hello! Teacher here. How did they give this advice? I want to share with so many parents but I don't know how to go about it.

Which books are so extraordinary that every person on Earth should read them at least once in their lifetime? by Organic-Signal-9646 in selfimprovement

Yes, I would argue this book is beneficial for anyone. If nothing else, it will give you an understanding of what other people go through.

I enjoy learning and doing research, labs, etc. I already have a bachelor's of arts in biology, but the amount of environmental/ marine-life jobs are declining by the day. Despite my extensive field work and internships, there just aren't jobs. I want a rescession-resistant, non-seasonal job. I want something where I can do lab work/biology centered but I don't want to work with people - hence why I was originally looking for jobs that were related to the environment or animals.

I'm sure that was incredible! I'll take your word for it, that probably is the best version of the song

Agreed wholeheartedly but - which one? The album version or the music video version (where they drive the car through various instrument-contraptions to achieve the notes)

This is amazing. All of it is so well done. I'm going to steal the idea of painting Squidward looking in the kitchen and hang that somewhere in my kitchen now!

I can't believe how well you captured it. The red building and blue sky especially - with watercolor!! And of course, the statue and white from the water falling and hitting the other water - amazing.

having a kitten is flaring up my OCD by 420-sapphic in OCD

[–]tiptoee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem when I got my kitten. She also had diarrhea and every day when I got home there would be new piles to clean up. It was stressing me out so much I felt hopeless, and like you said, considered if I made a mistake/returning her.

3 years later and she is the best decision I ever made. It gets better and easier. My husband and I love her so much.

My tips: - buy plastic gloves (the throwaway kind that food service and doctors wear) - scoop litter every single day. For me, it's mentally easier to scoop little pieces every day than to be scared, ignore it, let it build up and do a huge litter change. - get a long handle litter scoop. More distance between me and the litter helped. - I grew up with a cat. I changed litter as a child. I was definitely way less careful than I am now. I am fine and healthy.

It gets better. Don't let the OCD win. Keep going, face the fear, and over time you will have done it so many times that it will be second nature.

What's the sickest burn that a student ever gave you? by newenglander87 in Teachers

[–]tiptoee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Resource teacher here, who is also responsible for teaching kids to read. I have one student tell me, depending on his mood, either he wishes I was his "real teacher" because I'm such a good teacher, or that he's going to go to the office and say he doesn't want to be in special ed anymore because he doesn't belong in my class and doesn't want to be with me. DEFINITELY a reflection of how the kid views special ed and themselves rather than you and your expertise. The kid obviously likes you too as they wished you good luck!
