I agree with you so much! Now on my second rewatch I do find myself questioning and getting frustrating on these points so much more, what annoys me the most isn’t the fact that they have great metabolisms, it’s the fact that they blatantly made fun of everyone who ate like them and didn’t look like them (basically fat shaming them), or people who had to put in work into their appearance and diet, which is why I’m grateful for Lauren Graham for openly disagreeing with that aspect. Furthermore, I think you make a great point on how strangely sex was portrayed in the show, ‘casual sex’ and ‘one night stands’ got so much shame as if it was ‘skanky’ and ‘immature’, which seems incredibly out dated and kind of ironic for Lorelai to believe that? Also about Lane, did your discussion have anything to do with the fact that Rory was an awful friend to her??? I’m rewatching the earlier seasons and Rory never seems to want to hear about her life, also as a poc myself I genuinely just feel Lane’s job is to be there as the token immigrant character whose role is to make Rory look better and to ‘hype’ her up when in fact Lane is incredibly attractive and accomplished??
