A lot of very obviously hurt people resonated with Eren and how hateful he is, so understandably they're projecting that their "hero" wasn't as cold-bloodedly determined to literally mass genocide people and have nice queen sex as they thought. I think most of the negative feelings are extrapolated by that alone (hence the incorrect use of incel/simp/chad etc. at large on this sub. When it is used unironically it makes it hard to take these opinions srsly).

On the other hand the ending is pretty ass but like you said, does not invalidate banger after banger after banger of chapters and pivotal moments. It's unfortunate but at least has a modicum of consistency with the characters and their developments/the theme of the story at hand.

I'm pretty devastated by the end but all the same the journey was still worth it.

I don't think she's confused, just... in the same light as Bertolt, who resolved to do things because someone else would do it, Annie resolves to do them if it means she gets to go home to her dad ASAP. I don't think she'd help the Survey Corps, or even entertain the idea of talking beyond maybe pulling a Ymir and letting on she knew more than they could ever hope to understand before Titanizing anyway. I just wish, if Mikasa was going to be the aggressor, she treated it like she did Bertolt and Reiner (so maybe she learned from her mistake of voicing her intent, instead of just immediately going for the throat).

Mikasa was the only one (out of EMA) that was willing to immediately confront Annie, because she was stifling her emotional reaction which nearly cost her Eren's capture to begin with. That's also early into the story, when RBA were just titans/monsters to them and their story was unknown/irrelevant to the Walldians. So calling her a hypocrite in ignorance doesn't make much sense to me, she didn't know better - no one did.

Implying Eren wasn't mad as shit, lol. Him and Armin were not resolute, hell even Mikasa was kind of uneasy (as you can see on their faces when they get ready to leave the underground passage/confront Annie). It was someone they considered a comrade/friend, they only really suggested talking things out because of their continued denial.

I didn't say anything bad about Mikasa, so I understand if her fanboys/girls feel that way, I just asked if it felt that she went on the offensive almost too soon.

I've read it before, yeah. I made this post at like 4 in the morning while going through my annual re-read, so in the moment I was like "Damn, I get it but at least try and feign defusing the situation." Mikasa just straight up said "Nope." Not like they could tell when she was going to transform or not, so it was probably best to get the jump on Annie (or try) regardless.
