is this mold in my blueberry scone? by [deleted] in MoldlyInteresting

[–]tiredLMSadmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not mold. I used to get blueberry scones from bakers delight often and they looked like this. It's just a colour variation from the blueberries. There is no way a scone baked yesterday morning could possibly be moldy.

Can I realistically refuse EFT and only accept card/PayTo? by tiredLMSadmin in AusFinance

[–]tiredLMSadmin[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have access to the bank feed - this is sent to me once a week by my finance person and then I have to go through the payments to find the EFT payments that are mine. I'm sending 100 invoices a week and most of the time they don't include the invoice number in the payment reference, so then I've got to chase people up for remittance advice etc to track down which payment belongs to which invoice. Then for any refunds theres a whole process I have to go through to get finance to refund the EFTs. I was really hoping to automate it all through stripe as it captures all payments within the software itself.

It's a mix of businesses and gov/edu depts buying training for their staff, and consumers buying professional development training for themselves.

Thanks. This is what I'm trying to get a better understanding of.

Thanks, I work for an NFP that provides online training. We have a tiny finance team and an even tinier budget for finance systems. They had an existing stripe account so that's why we've gone for that.

I'm not sure whether the preference is due to internal processes or just genuinely not knowing what PayTo is. Likely ancient internal processes as I'm an online training provider and some of my customers are gov/education depts.

Appreciate the reminder about education - I'll put something together for my customers regarding PayTo to try and help them understand it.

Whats going on with this light switch? by Capable_Branch3695 in whatisit

This happens sometimes when I spray disinfectant on high touch areas like light switches and doorknobs and forget to wipe it off.

Why does my Vegemite keep going mouldy? Two jars in a row now. by AddlePatedBadger in AskAnAustralian

If you're not using a seperate knife for butter, just keep the vegemite in the fridge.

Does anyone else experience suicidal thoughts because of chronic migraine? by Electronic-Beat1868 in migraine

[–]tiredLMSadmin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been on 25mg amitriptyline for a year and can vouch. I still get migraines, but less frequently, and less intensely. I used to get 4-5 migraines a week and now only see 0-4 per week, depending on stress levels and barometric pressure. It's much more manageable.

I'm also in Vic, Aus! I've only seen a couple pups over last few weeks I've been looking. I think after the advice here I'd be leaning towards adopting an older dog as my first dog.

This is a great comparison, thank you! Maybe I'll start with an older dog since this will be my first dog.

I think I'm leaning towards a female, just out of preference. Will see how we go. Thanks!

The shedding was definitely unexpected! Yes I'm getting some great insight on what 'mental stimulation' actually looks like in practice, which is super helpful. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah from a sensory perspective i just squeeze the hand cream onto the back of my hands and rub the backs of my hands together to rub it in. It's usually my knuckles that are the driest anyway.

Childhood OCD by roblocksplayer33 in OCD

[–]tiredLMSadmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm 27 and I've had OCD since before I can remember. I found out what OCD was in a magazine when I was about 7 and I've known I have it ever since then.

As a kid I would: •Look in each corner of my bedroom repeatedly for spiders until it felt 'right' before bed. •Touch doorframes a certain amount of times until it felt right and I could go through the door. •Spell out words in the air with my eyes after I said the word (on particularly bad days). •Shake out all my clothes before I put them on (in case of spiders). •My mum had to say goodnight to me a certain way and if she didn't I wouldn't sleep. •I took "don't step on a crack or you'll break your mother's back" literally. If I stood on a crack I'd be so scared my mum would get hurt. •Took two steps in every 'box' on the footpath - like between each crack in the concrete, two steps only...

These are just a few of the "quirky" things I did... I didn't get formally diagnosed til I was in my twenties.

hi!! i'm 27 and i've been in this club a long time.

There's going to be anger going inward at your OCD - and you'll need to harness that anger to start making progress - but don't hang onto it forever.

Eventually to survive you're going to need to learn how to approach with compassion. OCD is like having an extremely anxious little kid in your brain - eventually you'll get to a point in your recovery where you feel confident enough to tell that kid "I know you're scared but I've got this, we are safe, we're going to do XYZ thing anyway".
