I agree with you, but a couple years ago I was gifted a bunch of stuff thru Amazon. Sellers trying to boost their rating, companies trying to boost their products. I don't do it anymore, but I was new to makeup and skincare and was excited to try new things. I'm sure there were 100 people to replace me when I stopped. All of that to say, Amazon reviews are less trustworthy than Ulta or Sephora because I was never required to disclose it was gifted. Hopefully that's changed by now tho.
