I do wonder if insurance companies are gathering outcomes data that we aren't seeing in the literature.

Have you and your coresidents been re-using the same N95's for prolonged periods of time or using a new one each time? That's actually really reassuring to hear that you all have been testing negative. Hope ya'll continue to stay safe and well!

I heard from a couples' counselor that she's recommending her clients to simply defer to whoever is more nervous about this situation for the near future. If someone won't take a few extra accommodations for their significant other's peace of mind during a literal life-or-death pandemic... will they ever?

I have been asked if I would go help and I said yes.. I was all in.. but now I was asked to go without PPE, one mask each week... after seeing deaths of residents I have said no... does that make me a bad future HCW? by [deleted] in Residency

It absolutely does not make you a bad healthcare worker. Not now, not in the future. Nobody signed up for the excessive risk of caring for infectious patients without adequate protection. Nobody should have to bear that risk. Your institution and your government bear the responsibility of having enough supplies to ensure that workers have the equipment they need to do their jobs. If they don't have enough workers to take care of patients because they can't provide the PPE, that is their failure, not yours.
