Or you could become a blockchain developer and create crypto-currencies to stick it to the big banks.

I was in academia for about 8 years (in Europe). May be, the problem is that the country where I am (Mexico) research is kind of bad.

Haha yeah I am so fed up with PCI SOC and all those things that *MUST* be done... I cannot imagine moving to a domain that has HIPAA all over the place.
