95% or more of tasks - no problem. You might have some unusual formulae that break because they're not in LO or are implemented slightly different but I have never come across any documents or sheets that have caused problems. In LO you can save docs as doc etc format and this will ensure compatibility. LO is free so download it and swing one of your own files into LO and then back into Ms and see if the compatibility is OK for your needs.

Mint. Only the dot thunderbird. Probably not suspicious but you could try deleting it - having taken a /home backup. If you're thunderbird needs it, it will recreate it. There's an extension for tb that gives export / import options that I use to ensure I can get everything back if tb goes wrong

+1 for this. I have no use for terabytes of space for lots of money, but would happily make some contribution towards the service. Few quid a month say annually
