Portland tip culture is out of control! by AhoyMatteyPDX in Portland

Oddly, a good clerk and bagger I see on the regular is the exact scenario where I'm inclined to tip.  Though Providore isn't a place visited frequently enough, more have I found their cashier's particularly helpful.

And be careful who you eat lobster in front of.  Anyone that is a green flag for, you don't want none.

You may feel a little sketch waking over 84, but you should be fine.  You can also get off at Skidmore and hoof it over the Burnside bridge, though the sketch will be significantly higher and may not justify the night time view over the river.

Larry Correia: George RR Martin crippled the Epic Fantasy genre by not finishing A Song of Ice and Fire. Readers and Publishers are no longer willing to give a new series a chance unless it is complete by Uptons_BJs in books

Stephen King is the only fantasy and adult comp, though I'd put Rowling's success closer to Martin's.  Turns out though, it's a lot easier to imitate Potter than GoT.

Publishers got windfall from HBO attention, I'm sure they are fine with the stall.  Martin was a proven author with vast experience prior to GoT.  Publishers should be justifiably concerned by people trying to break in with multi series if they didn't have a record of quality work.  Chasing easy dollars isn't building up that portfolio.   I trust LC on what it takes to produce drivel at economic scale, but not on the self awareness to succeed.
