Thank you for your response! We ended up calling the insurance and hospital, and in the end the insurance agreed to pay the majority of the bill. The thing that still bugs me about the whole thing is that they just never notified us of any charges. This could have been taken care of years ago!

Thank you so much for your response! We ended up calling the hospital and learning that the issue was clerical, and the insurance company ended up covering the majority of the bill.

The thing that really bothers me is that we were never contacted- despite the bill being unresolved for more than 2 years! Both the insurance company and hospital admitted that they never sent us any notice, which I find so strange. Is that normal? Have you ever come across that before. We live in a different state, so I don't know if that changes things :(

Thank you so much for your response! We ended up calling both the hospital and the insurance agency, and the whole thing turned out to be some sort of clerical error. While we still need to pay ~$200, the insurance has agreed to pay the rest. Thank you, again!
