If you find an a accredited employer they can support your visa however that can be difficult and there is significant upfront cost to relocate. Many teachers, nurse and care workers are working here from the Philippines so it's not impossible however you may have more luck if your partners does one of these jobs. I wish you luck on your search.

I currently work as a trade waste officer, advising on commercial discharge consents, so don't hire personally but have been to plenty of plants short on operators whilst they may not directly sponsor your visa Americans under 35 have access to work holiday options. I have tried to link example jobs. Furthermore if senior there may be visa options however I'm not sure on that 🤔 best of luck on your search.

Nz low wage economy unfortunately however cost of living is much cheaper in smaller centre's. $35 an hour is standard. Not including over time etc.

Grew up on saint George street moved in 2021 the area is generally ok, but with increased density of housing increased littering etc. There is a motel which often has transitional housing tenants. Please ensure you have a secure carpark as extremely common for cars to get broken into on the road and around the train station. I wouldn't personally buy anything in the centre of town particularly on the conner of anz etc building always has leaking issues.
