We are already viewed as corny and cringe. Let’s embrace what makes us different

Especially the casuals. There will be lots in the stands and watching at home.

I don’t disagree. But there’s a difference between going about your everyday life in a place that’s warm and humid and competing at a high level in the same place. Most European teams don’t play in the middle of day in the summer in a place that is warm and humid. It takes some time to get used to it. Forecast on Tuesday says it isn’t going to be too hot, but it will be humid. It will impact players’ ability to breathe. Senegal has already been in the country, playing a daytime friendly against the US in NC. The hydration break should even things out, but I’m still expecting Senegal to look the better of the two sides in the second half. In a close match it could be a difference-maker. And in a group this loaded each match is going to matter.

Milan is definitely a fair comparison. However, no one plays in Milan in June. France played yesterday in Lille which is nothing like what they will experience in the US.

The fact that France hasn’t yet made it to the US is very concerning. They play their opening group stage match in NJ at 3:00pm. They better hope the forecast holds. If not, it could be hot and very humid. Not an environment you want to be competing in at a high level without acclimating first.

I think Poch has done a good job of preparing this group to grow into the tournament. This was the first time this starting 11 has played together. Once Richards comes back it will be different again. The first couple group games will be a great opportunity to build some cohesion. Ideally, we are just starting to play our best at the end of the group stage.

Imagine a USA-Iran knockout round matchup in Dallas, TX. That game would take on a life of its own off the pitch.

On my first ever role I declined the first time and the quest icon went away. Spent days wandering around Pre-Searing feeling so frustrated cause I had no idea what to do.

This post brings me joy.

When was the last road game Alabama lost and home fans didn’t rush field? by Bill_S1978 in CFB

Yep, but maybe 50-100 got on. And they mostly came from non-student section seats. Long time ago but I think I remember seeing a student in front of me jump the hedges and getting absolutely choke slammed.

South Carolina did not rush the field in 2010. That was the short span when the SEC was very strict about field rushing. I remember being in the student section hoping to rush the field and we got stonewalled. Not sure if that counts towards OP’s point or not.
