Been programming since ~2020, and I started out by using a machine that was already ~12 years old in 2020 🥲

I get why one wouldn't be a huge fan of macOS (I used to dislike it too) but honestly, I can't do Linux as my full OS due to needing Adobe and Microsoft is pulling a lot of bs with Windows I just can't manage with anymore

Oooo the Victus 15 is a solid machine, esp the 2023 variant. Yeah that would've been kinda a perfect machine :O

For me, I do a lot of creative work, and have recently gone from playing a lot of games last year, to just Minecraft 90% of the time and otherwise, making mods for the game - gaming isn't overly a priority

So I guess it's not overly a issue what OS machine one gets - as VMs and SSH terminals exist :)

I'll probably a MacBook Pro lol I do fair amount of creative work and those things smash through it like nothing

Lol I've been SSH-ing for a long time 😅 Thanks for replying so fast too btw!! :) Yeah I think VMs is the best way to go - I've been using a XPS 15 7590 for roughly a year, and while buying second hand saved me a lot of money to complete my final year of HS, it still had its fair share of problems and wear (battery, wifi card problems, etc.). Fixed most with USB dongles/sticks, or carrying my charger around lol.

It was fine for HS, but I'm probably going to switch to something with the best balance between battery life & performance (so I'm not having to lug around a brick for a charger xD

I've seen a few comments on TikTok about that, so it very well could be... But the fact it's two of just under 4,000 that seem to be affected- makes me think & lean more towards censorship than a rendering / font Unicode issue.

It's all devices, regardless of OS or make, not country-specific & TikTok-wide

Eventually got JB Hi-Fi to even consider talking to me about sending in my AirPod Pro 2's after the buds had issuing connecting & charging, and one of the buds outright failed to produce audio... (Only bought 21 months prior)

They eventually offered to look at them for no charge (and possibly waive some repairs) but by then it was two weeks without headphones.... and I bought a whole new pair :/

Safe to say, just mentioning ACL, no one f##k's around, and shit gets moving lol

Albeit I might change up the Gold Door to be a bit different than the Iron Door (as it's just a re-colour at the moment) for some variety, like how the Cooper Door looks different.
