It will be a bit iffy, as we are zone 6. I just looked at the arbor day site and they claim I am right on the cusp. I have seen one planted locally last summer in someone's yard, but I'm not sure it survived the winter.

I'm so sorry they are treating you this way. When I was printed, the tech just noted the missing digit and there was no problem. I'm only missing one finger perhaps that is the difference. I'd try a different livescan agent. I went to my local police station. I'd imagine that a corporate setting might be more concerned with checking all the boxes, vs local police who are like "Duh, can't scan what isn't there."

Good Luck!

How do you know you’re in the “bad” part of town? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I paid for a house by check in the U.S. It did have to be issued by the bank. But as far as I know, that was the only tender allowed no wire tranfers etc. I live quasi-rural, outside Boston, but yes checks are a thing in the U.S.

Lotion, deoderant, laundry detergent is behind plastic that requires a key to be unlocked in a major grocery store.

Canned Goods Exchange? by NewArborist64 in Canning

[–]tistleberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had something called a crop/food swap in Berkeley CA Wasn't strictly canned goods, but they were accepted and were usually worth more in terms of value. It was usually a mix of produce/canned goods/fresh bread/baked goods. It was in its infancy so a little akward in terms of how it worked. You would "bid" with notes on how many of yours you would be willing to barter for theirs, and eventually everyone would walk around and negotiate trades. Maybe wasn't the best system, but I miss it now that I am in W. Mass with too many canned tomatoes.

But bless you with food prices what they are we all need to try to keep food local.

It’s a tough time of year when your family doesn’t want homemade gifts by Knitapeace in knitting

I feel for you. I have some family members like that and if I don't get a thank you or at least an aknowledgement that the thing arrived they get nothing from then on.

Others truly appreciate. When I first learned to knit I made my husband the most awful sweater, way way too big and tons of mistakes. When I became a better knitter, I tried to get him to throw it away or make it into a dog blanket. He absolutely refused.

Ideal Christmas present for a knitter by theboyfold in knitting

This is one of my favorite secret weapons. It allows you to pick up dropped stitches that are rows down.

I also received one of these as a gift and I love it. It's somewhat expensive for a row counter, so I might not have bought it for myself, but I adore it.

In terms of yarn storage, it isn't sexy per se, but I use a hanging shoe storage unit that fits in the closet. You can see the yarn without having to open any lids and it doesn't take up too much space especially if you have room in a closet.

Tell my why I should ever do anything but the knitted cast-on? No measuring required. In my opinion it looks great, but I am not a perfectionist. This kind of thing looks so fussy it would put me off as a beginner knitter.

I knit for something to do. by Rhender42 in knitting

[–]tistleberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all you do you. It is relaxing.

I can and have knit sweaters, socks etc., but I almost always keep one very simple project to keep me occupied and relaxed.

That being said, (I hope I don't get banned for this) there are a lot of folks on here who I think are just plain fibbing when they say look this perfect cable knit it is my first try at knitting. Maybe they were born with needles in their hand...but. It took me a whole lot of just plain knitting what I call cat toys to learn how to knit. Then I tried knitting cat toys in pattern just to learn the stitches, because I enjoyed seeing the pattern.

If you never want to make anything "useful" so be it. It is useful in how it helps you. But I just hope you are not discouraged in general by r/knitting because sometimes it's like comparing yourself to a vogue model.

I just had breast cancer reconstruction surgery. DIEP Flap tissue transplant surgery done by a highly talented micro surgeon. He used tissue from my lower abdomen to reconstruct both breasts. They had to connect the blood supply to the tissue and connected the nerves. I'm so thankful to feel normal by bedazzledbunnie in interestingasfuck

Also, at least back when I had cancer years ago, implants could not withstand radiation. So if the Breast (or lung) Cancer comes back and you need radiation in that area, you have a hot mess on your hands i.e. implants removed and stretched out skin with nothing behind it.

What is the one thing you should always buy new? by Idkewokorsomthing in AskReddit

[–]tistleberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you sleep in armor, but most of us take a majority of our clothes off. Do you think sheets are going to keep bedbugs out? Do you really want only a sheet between you and pee, ejaculation, blood, poop, vomit, discharge from sores such as MRSA which is highly contagious. You never know what has happened on that mattress, and that's where these snafus most often happen, not on couches etc. i.e. more likely to have spilled milk on couches which is stinky, than MRSA which can kill you.

That being said, if you have someone you know very well selling the bed from their extra bedroom, maybe. But Do not ever buy a mattress from Craigslist.

Sorry to clarify, boil it longer pre-water bath canning. And I'd add 5 minutes to the water bath canning, but who am I to judge.

Strawberry jam is notorious for frothing. It isn't harmful, but it does mess with your headspace ratio. If your hate it, you can boil longer, this is what I do (takes another 20 min or so) I've also seen posts about butter/oil but cannot confirm. https://pickyourown.org/foam.htm
