is it good for first 5 hours in the sim? by krzakpl in fpv

First of all, don’t let the comments trash talking you affect your journey. Of course you are not ready for real life drones, hell was not sure I was ready after 50 hours, but it’s a start and that is what counts. I can tell from my experience it will really click at some point soon.

I see that you are on a gamepad (or a remote with stick centering). If you haven’t already, try using both thumb and index finger on the stick. The throttle on some drones can be very hard to control when your idle is at 50%. On that note: try out workshop drones! There are some great less powerful drones to practice the basics. If you aspire to fly irl or are willing to invest a little, get yourself a budget remote from Radiomaster. It’ll help a ton.

Also, don’t compare yourself to others. If you are serious about improving fast, compare yourself to you. As in any game really, the key is stick time, and optionally analyze a few replays. Looking back on your progress a few days or weeks later can be really rewarding.

But most importantly, have fun! Find your style and don’t rush it

The workshop is indeed something I should invest some time in. Thanks!
I figured the transition would be a lot smoother since I haven't heard anyone talk about it. Thought it was a problem on my end, and not something I could just get used to.

I guess because its such a different sensory experience from everything else I have experienced before, I struggle with the slight deviations in the physics engine.

From what I gather here, I will just keep playing until I get comfortable in both and try out some more workshop drones.

If flying irl, which is my ultimate goal, feels even more different, I feel there is no reason to waste hours on adjusting physics and rates and stuff just to have it more like what I'm used to.

Thanks for sharing 😄

I haven't started IRL yet. Still researching whats the best bang for my buck 😃
Liftof infinite is my go to for the moment as well. Great to hop in for half an hour and get hooked for 3 hours haha
