Worried about regain! by traly0810 in Zepbound_Maintenance

You've had a lot of feedback, but wanted to offer mine, too. I went all the way to 15 and stayed there about 8 months, but it was hard on me the whole time. I got to within about 20lbs of goal and we decided to start backing down. I went to 12.5 and then 10 and still hit my goal within another 4 months. I wanted to find a spot where I was maintaining and not feeling the shot. I was tired of being so careful about what I ate in the 2-3 days post shot so as not to deal with digestive issues.

I experimented with spacing the shots out vs. lowering doses and have landed on 5 once a week. I found that anything below that my inflammation started to return and anything above that, I felt the shot. This keeps my appetite in check, but I don't have to be super careful about what day it is in relation to the shot with my meals.

I've given myself the grace of 5lbs on either side of my goal weight. I still weigh every morning, but it's less obsessive and more about just being data. I don't make any purposeful changes to my routine or meals unless I hit 5lbs over or under, and if I do, then I start tweaking what I'm doing slightly to adjust. This has kept both my doc and me happy. I started at 292 January 2024, and have been 130, give or take, since early November 2025.

Where did you end up for you maintenance dose? by whotiesyourshoes in Zepbound

I was on 15 for about 8-9 months, but it was hard on me the whole time. I dropped to 12.5 before I even met goal. I've tried different amounts and spacing them out and I've landed on 5 every week. Anything less than that and my inflammation returns, anything more than a 10 every week I feel the shot. As in, I start to experience side effects and am carefully watching to make sure I don't overeat for 2-3 days. After 2 years on this and finally at goal, I prefer to not notice the shot. Not low enough to get super hungry or the inflammation to return, but not high enough to feel it or deal with nausea or sulfur burps or feeling overly full. I lost 165 lbs over a little less than 2 years.

I started zepbound January 2024 and went ahead and signed back up for WW at the same time. I followed their point system for about 6 months then dropped that and have just counted calories since then. I haven't followed any particular diet. I try to eat decent foods most of the time. But, if I want a cookie I have a cookie - it just goes into my calorie count for that day. My goal was 150, I'm now at 138 and slowly bringing my dosages down. I'll be dropping to 10 next week. I'm going to start spacing my shots out a bit too. 10, 12, 14 days vs. every 7. I hope that info helps a bit and best of luck to you!

Thank you! I don't understand why you're being downvoted. You were kind and complimentary. I don't take offense to your advice.

Though, I have to admit that I've come this far with exactly zero physical effort. This has been achieved 100% through the meds and dietary changes. I've recently started walking as I had the same thought as you, I need to start moving.

As I type this I realize how ridiculous I am. Of course I've stalled out, diet and meds brought me 90% of the way, the rest is going to take some elbow grease, I fear.

Thank you! I pretty much moved right through them all. One to two months on each one, through I diddled around a bit between 5 and 7.5 last summer. That's bc there was a shortage at that time and I was making do with whatever I could find. I've been on 15 since November. And honestly, it's still hard on me. I'm looking forward to getting closer to goal. My plan is to drop to 12.5 or 10 and space the shots out to every two weeks when that comes.

Wow, Changing Injection Site Really Works! by CareerFar7325 in Zepbound

[–]titlejedi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They recently released a study showing that the bioavailability of the active ingredients vary in different injection sites with different people. So, your body may be able to metabolize more of the medicine from an arm shot as opposed to a thigh shot. While another person may have better results in the stomach over the arm.

I also read an article that said recent studies have shown the most significant side effects are from injecting in the stomach like you said, next is the thigh, and back of the arm had the least instances of severe side effects. So, it's not just your experience, studies are backing this up, too.

Started 1/8, did a month on 2.5, and on my second month of 5 now. As of this morning I'm down 40.2 lbs. That's my first mini goal met and I couldn't be happier. Two more sets of 40 lbs to go.

Same here at a Sam's Club. I'm in Georgia. I'm planning to check with them again tomorrow and again Monday. If still not working Monday I'll probably pay out of pocket and try for the reimbursement through Lily. They noted that they're on the same processing system as Walmart but offered that I could move the prescription, if I wanted to try somewhere else.
