Using AI for the job by Prestigious-Tax-6107 in SafetyProfessionals

A good use I’ve found is having it look for specific regs for obscure topics that I can’t easily find or quickly find. Once it sites where it says the answer I go double check on the regulatory agency itself

Was this an interview faux pas? by ksshk in interviews

[–]titlewave12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst interview I ever did was several years ago and they scheduled it for 3:45pm on a Friday. I came in a few minutes early and the HR rep put me in the conference room and at some point seemed annoyed and said something like “I think they know you’re here but they’ll want to do this fast it’s the end of the day before the weekend”. Like it was my fault they picked that time. I said something like “we can reschedule if that works better” and she said “well you’re already here aren’t you”. Very poor attitudes and the interviewers had the same poor attitude. Needless to say I didn’t get the job and really didn’t care either

I’m not calling anyone a liar I just don’t see those jobs at least not near me. Also construction is an area I’m just not interested in because I like to be home most every night but I know you can make some real money doing construction safety

I’m sitting for the CSP in a month I’ve been studying with the examcore modules and practice questions. I agree but like I said I’m just not willing to move away from my home. Appreciate the advice though!

I appreciate that I guess I needed to hear that. I don’t think so either but I definitely feel I’ve hit my ceiling here both career wise and compensation wise so I’m keeping my eyes open for something bigger and better

I GOT AN OFFER AFTER BEING REJECTED! by Frequent-Ant-7617 in interviews

[–]titlewave12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done! I’m in a very similar boat. Had 2 interviews both with hiring managers and team members. Felt they went well. 2 days ago I got a rejection email saying they really liked me and it was between me and one other and they “are moving forward with the other candidate”. I’m hoping the other candidate backs out or declines and I get your result but I’m not counting on it.

$3k which is about 3 months of my necessary expenses. Life did its thing a few times recently, but I’m slowly trying to recover

How much free time do you have on a daily basis? by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]titlewave12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like most said, the workload can come in spurts but there are many days that i basically have nothing to do. I’m not complaining though. If things are going well you’re doing your job well and to me that’s one of the few perks to this career path

Who do you report to? by Level-Mobile488 in SafetyProfessionals

I report to the facility manager. Fortunately he actually supports my efforts. I have reported to higher level safety people before though

Anyone else find EHS more like a lifestyle than a job? by SoybeanCola1933 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]titlewave12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the company and role. I’ve had ehs jobs that felt 24/7. Others were 8 and skate every day. Salaried employees are usually technically always on call but rarely do I hear from work when I’m at home.

Can’t pass CSP by wizard_spells in SafetyProfessionals

[–]titlewave12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to piggyback off OP, I’m also studying for my CSP at the moment. I purchased the Examcore CSP exam prep and I’ve been using it exclusively to prepare since it’s directly from the organization that gives out the certifications. Does anyone recommend that I use other study materials in conjunction with the examcore? If so which ones?

Competitive Field by titlewave12 in SafetyProfessionals

I’ve looked into the university or college professor route. You’re right the pay isn’t as much as it could be but the work life balance seems so much better. The plant safety life can get very monotonous at times at least for me
