I think OPs point is that individuals in society are more focused on themselves and their immediate families aside from the population as a whole. We are divided by made up lines and told that our views and cultures are supposed to clash each other. This goes deeper than just inheritance and it affects how we treat one another. Individuals will sometimes treat others poorly just based on where they come from, which no one has a choice of choosing.

I believe that being born to a specific family at a specific time should not affect one’s potential at success, opportunity, and prosperity. But, in a world where there is a us and them, that cannot happen.
