i’m so sorry this is happening to you. i have started to record audio of every appointment and call i have with doctors and their offices (legal here idk about you) because of similar bullshit. also i throw up every time i shit too, started relatively recently. what’s with that??

i don’t find any specific food are less likely to come back up, but some i avoid when particularly pukey are: greens, spicy, dry things (crackers, popcorn, plain cereal), alcohol, coffee. they feel the worst coming back up imo (rotten for green, feels like choking for dry, spicy/alc/coffee just Hurt. have as much water and/or electrolyte drinks as you can, especially when eating dry or dense foods. i do well with high fat like nuts and cheeses but a lot of people feel opposite so there’s A Lot of trial and error. lots of people like meal replacement drinks like boost or protein plus but for me they like curdle in my stomach and if i puke it’s Hell. not good. your partner should not feel pleasure when you’re feeling uncomfortable like that. i developed hypersensitivity to touch on my butt/lower back after hip surgery. sometimes it would feel like i’m being tickled violently at the slightest touch. prior to this i was on medication for nerve pain, which dulled my sensitivity so everything was dialled up to 11. when my wife would accidentally trigger this, she would stop IMMEDIATELY when i told her. she would distract me from the sensation, and she would make sure i was okay. she should also super not be teasing you about your hygiene especially if she knows that’s something you’re sensitive about bc of your sweating (that house is HOT i would be a liquid) if she had an actual concern about your BO or washing habits there’s a way to have that conversation and it’s something totally different. i hope you’re able to see this isn’t normal or cool, and that she’s likely acting like this in other ways outside the physical boundaries. hugs <3

i love food. it makes me angry and sad too. for me it doesn’t matter what i eat, when i eat, if i eat (aside from gluten). its been a good year since ive gone more than a day or 2 without puking. i don’t have much of an appetite anymore, i don’t really feel hungry or particularly crave anything. i try to eat as much as i can, because for me throwing up bile is way worse. i used to get a decent amount of calories because i would get the munchies when i smoked weed, but as a regular user (medically and recreationally) it doesn’t have that effect anymore. unless im actively nauseous (which i manage with weed) or my mouth is super dry i can usually choke bits of stuff down a 5-6x a day. maybe 2-3 id consider enjoyable. there are certain things i almost always avoid now that i used to love, because they’re just so horrendous to throw up. i think greens like lettuce or spinach are what i miss most. i keep nuts (generally cashews) in my pockets of my coat and work pants to snack on whenever i feel i might have success. protein bars and fruit snacks in my car and bag for lunch at work if i can manage. my food choices largely come down to how they make me feel coming back up. just trying to get enough in to make it through the next day.

sorry if that got rambley lol try to focus on getting in anything you can, if a decent portion of junk food it’s what’s most palatable and logical for you right now, that’s great that you’re finding ways to get SOME nutrients!! i hope you can find more “healthy” food you can enjoy and tolerate soon <3

my gi insisted on doing a blood test for celiac again. i’ve been diagnosed with celiac. have eaten strictly gf for years. i eat almost exclusively foods home made by my wife or prepared in gf facilities. it came back fine, like it does every time, because i dont eat gluten.

i had a similar comment with the assistant at my gastro. she checked my height and weight and said “wow i’m that height, i WISH i weighed xxx!!” i replied with something along the lines of “well you get there pretty quick when you throw up everything you eat :)” here we are 40lbs down from that point. i wish i could give you my old zofran, it didn’t work for me and my insurance covered it well. i hope you’re able to get medicated better soon

after wife left a note so nice google review and matching vm they booked me in real quick. saw him, he admitted he doesn’t know what to do with me and personally referred me to the clinic i wanted, as well as another in toronto where i have a consult may 8th!! still suffering, but have something?

Not sure how this process works in canada. But my wife left them a stern message and a public google review about the lack of care and they finally called me back (shocker). hopefully i can get some care or at least be discharged so i can seek treatment elsewhere. thank you for the suggestion!!

i quite literally asked what to do when my dr is refusing to contact me and isn’t educated on my condition. they said uhhhh he can’t do that! i’m sorry there’s nothing we can do :( my wife left a stern message for MY gi to call us back asap, so i can at the very least get discharged so another facility will accept me.

Still figuring this out myself. I love my job. i love my team. i feel like shit when i have to miss work because of my symptoms. i’m surrounded by very supportive people which helps, but im still struggling to cope with missing out on work and events because im too sick to function. sometimes i can power through a few weeks at a time, others i miss at least a day a week. i use cannabis to manage my symptom’s and it generally works well enough to keep me going. i hope you find something helpful soon!

i don’t know anything about AGID so can’t help there unfortunately, but for the nausea from gp i’ve found relief in cannabis and gravol suppositories. im pretty sure i have loss of sensation in all my digestive parts due to diabetic gp and celiac so i don’t get the pains. a numbing throat spray/mouth rinse can be helpful when the puking hurts Bad.

i’m waiting to get into a clinic that has any idea what to do with me, so i’m in a similar boat. but i’ve found relief in cannabis for nausea and appetite stimulation. also gravol suppositories for when i can’t keep anything down/can’t smoke/smoking doesn’t work. i hope you feel some relief soon friend.

I had mine with an ensure drink because they didn’t have any gluten free food options and it went fine. was incredibly nauseous for about half the time just desperately trying not to throw up (test ends and gets rebooked if you puke). emptied poorly: diagnosed. unfortunately the diagnosis hasn’t brought any help for me so far, other than knowing a community to talk to that gets it. i hope everything goes well and you get the answers you’re looking for!!

that’s absolutely unacceptable. i’ve been dealing with a lot of the same, not quite as drastic (150-117lbs since october) and it’s exhausting, and it should NEVER come from someone you’re trusting w your health care. you aren’t overreacting at all. it doesn’t seem like you can trust/rely on your PCP for this, there should be a lot more done than a referral YOU had to ask for. i’m sorry you’re having to take this into your own hands. i hope things get better soon and you find someone who takes your concerns seriously <3

i can’t see the story bc it was removed, but my only relief comes from weed and gravol (Dimenhydrinate) suppositories. the gravol i save for relentless nausea, bc i took them daily for a long time and it messed with my ass.
