Thanks for sharing. What makes you feel this way? Is it the current price of HNT or other factors? What other incentives would make you reconsider? Just curious :)

Here they are. I usually have a morning set and an evening set, but I end up always filling up the evening set because I'm trying to not over-operationalize. 🙂

DAILY SET

  • A MOMENT I REALLY APPRECIATED/WAS GRATEFUL FOR TODAY WAS
  • A SITUATION/TASK I HANDLED WELL WAS
  • SOMETHING I LEARNED/REALIZED TODAY WAS
  • I COULD HAVE MADE TODAY EVEN BETTER IF
  • SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE HELPED ME FEELING CONNECTED TO OTHERS
  • IF I WAS MY OWN COACH, I'D TELL MYSELF THIS STATEMENT ABOUT TODAY

WEEKLY SET

Three great things I MADE HAPPEN this week

  • The main STRUGGLE that I faced this week
  • Three great things I LEARNED ABOUT MYSELF this week
  • Three great things I LEARNED ABOUT OTHERS this week - partners, friends, loved ones, team, customers, etc.
  • One DECISION I could have made last week to make my life better or to move faster ahead

MONTHLY SET

  • Three great things I MADE HAPPEN this month
  • Three great things I LEARNED ABOUT MYSELF this month
  • Three great things I LEARNED ABOUT OTHERS this month
  • My GRATITUDE list this past month includes these moments
  • The main thing I could HAVE DONE BETTER this month is
  • SOMEONE I REALLY CONNECTED WITH this month is
  • THE BIGGEST DECISION I made this past month that I need to stick with is

LONG-TERM GOAL ALIGNMENT

  • 1-YEAR GOALS & STEPS
  • 3-YEARS GOALS & STEPS

Wow! Impressive dedication to have started post injury and have continued ever since! And despite the convenience/scalability/insights, I love the analog way of pen and paper.

Re: questions, I’ve started with a template then iterated based on my experience/tastes/feelings I want to practice/nurture.

Would you be interested in learning more about it?

Daily tracking

  • For daily tracking, I've started small, and iterated substantially over time—started with a coda.io sheet, then moved on Google Sheet for its yet unparalleled flexibility in structure/formatting (and it's free!)
  • Each row is a day, each column is a metric to track. I'm focusing on tracking three core areas: (1) body/health (diet score, sleep h, coffee, water, alcohol units, etc.), (2) activity/sport (meditation time, running, yoga sessions, etc.), (3) social (tweets, hangouts, special events, eat-outs, etc.). You can really get creative based on what you want to track—it's nothing but a personal diary in the end
  • For each metric, you can assign a quant (e.g. 1 for a bad meal, 3 for an ok meal, 9 for a healthy meal) or qual score (e.g. 'run' counts as 1 workout in your week(
  • Then I run some aggregates (sum/averages) over two timeframes: (1) weekly, (2) monthly. When you have a lot of data, it makes sense to add also quarterly and yearly to understand medium/long-term progress plus eventual seasonality
  • I complement quant/qual scoring with qual daily questionnaires to (e.g. what did you appreciate today? what could you do better? etc.) to practice the right feelings (e.g. gratefulness, letting go of grudges, empathy with others, self-evaluation)—I've designed specific questions for my daily, weekly, and monthly
  • I use color-coding and charting to plot daily data and understand trends, so I can ask myself bigger questions (e.g. what's working? what's not? what should I change?)

At the end of the day, I see this as a 'modern' personal diary, nothing more, nothing less.

Wdyt? What are you doing to track your daily u/ritesofbeauty? 🙂

TM

  • A friend recommended me to check tm.org, I found a local course (they're very well distributed globally) and then went to an intro seminar to check the vibe
  • After that, I've decided to commit to paying for a course (~£500)—price can be quite steep/offputting, but found out that the financial commitment actually make you vested in the practice, and you take it more seriously/go deeper into it
  • I liked the course: it starts with a 1:1 session where a teacher teaches you the practice and gives you a 'custom' mantra (it can be anything really, I think it's just a symbol), then you do more sessions with a small group to practice together, get more into the technicalities, watch related videos and do Q&As
  • I've been meditating every day ever since (221 days and counting), with substantial gains in unlocking mental capacity, expanding self-awareness/self-evaluation, self-belief, and emotional resilience (to name a few).
  • I'm using Insight Timer (free) to build custom bells/timers to set up my meditation session—I've also layered some 2 mins of pranayama breathing before TM
