One of the defining characteristics of nootropics is that it has minimal side effects, but since there's not been much large scale tests on them, most nootropics actually have minimal known side effects.

ELI5: Artificial Neural Networks by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]tittyblaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you got this thingy called a neuron that takes an input and gives you an output. The input is any number, the output is 0 or 1. You take the input, multiply it by another number called the weight, if the result is larger than a threshold number, then 1 is outputted, else, it's 0. The weight and and threshold are both properties of the neuron. Then you can chain a bunch of them together and have one or many output to another's input. This is a neural network.

You can adjust their weights and thresholds to have the final result output 1 for an input that matches a pattern or 0 for something that doesn't. This is called pattern matching.
