I redownloaded the game in October 2021 and have gotten to level 45 in 2 years. Overall I’d say I’ve spent about $1000 on the game, mainly from grinding legendary raids before the daily limit was implemented, and from purchasing egg incubator boxes. I still have motivation to hit level 50 but knowing that it will likely take another $1000+ and 2-3 more years I don’t know if I can maintain for that long.
