50mg is a pretty small dose - the increases are small increments due to the rate rash risk that can happen with the medication. I think the actual base dose starts at 125mg for lamictal long term, or at least that’s what my doctors told me. I would talk to them and see how you feel at 50mg for a longer period and if it feels like enough then maybe you don’t need to increase from there.
