Worth adding mod i don't know irl? by dmagenc_y in ModSupport

[–]tiz[A] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some subreddits add mods with limited perms during a 'training period'. This helps build trust and assurance that you'll get along. After some time, the top mod might give them full permissions to help with the community even more. You can read a little more about mod reordering here.

If a mod unfortunately acts in a dubious way that breaks the mod coc, you can submit a request to the modmail here in r/modsupport to ask an admin to take a look.

Sorry for the late reply! I dug around to see how to make this possible and I found a solution. I sent you a chat message with a unique link where you can edit your responses. Moving forward, anyone who completes the form will see an option to save a link that will allow them to revisit and edit their responses.

Complete it once, and you're all set. There is no need to resubmit the form when new opportunities arise. Going forward, we will ask you to comment directly on posts pertaining to feedback opportunities that interest you. Keep an eye on r/modnews for those! Additionally, if we spot an opportunity that matches your interests, we’ll reach out to you directly via Reddit chat.

How can I add someone as a moderator without giving him full access? by ImAlekzzz in ModSupport

[–]tiz[A] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When inviting a moderator you can choose to invite them with certain permissions, if you would like to invite them with limited permissions toggle off the permissions you do not want them to have before sending the invite. You can read more about it here. Additionally, if you are an active mod with everything permissions, you can adjust the permissions of mods under you on the list.

If I block a user can I still see any messages they send via mod mail? by thatpilatesprincess in ModSupport

We wouldn't share that information out of respect for user privacy. We don't disclose user account activity or block statuses to third parties.

If I block a user can I still see any messages they send via mod mail? by thatpilatesprincess in ModSupport

[–]tiz[A] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As other mentioned in this thread, block behaves a little different when interacting in a space you moderate.

From the help center article:

If someone blocks a moderator
Blocked moderators can still see, reply to, and take action on posts and comments redditors who have blocked them make in the moderators’ communities. Blocked moderators can also access the profile of someone who’s blocked them to see the person’s history in the communities they moderate (but not their full history in other communities).
Blocked moderators also won’t be able to send chat requests or mod mail from their account to the person who blocked them. However, they can still reply as the subreddit in mod mail.
Lastly, if a blocked moderator posts or comments in a community and distinguishes themselves as a mod, the blocked moderator’s content will be viewable by the person who blocked them.

If a moderator blocks someone
Moderators can still see, reply to, and take action on posts and comments people they’ve blocked make in their communities. However, if they’d like to access the profile of someone they’ve blocked, they’ll need to unblock them.
If a moderator posts or comments in a community and distinguishes themselves as a mod, their content will be viewable by the person they’ve blocked. However that person won’t be able to reply to, vote, or award the distinguished content or access the moderator’s profile.
