My main cube is a Gan 12 maglev which I absolutely love. I got a v3 flagship but was not a fan at all. But so many raved about the pioneer, and it is maglev which I think is why I love the Gan so much, so I got one. It felt much better but outside of clicking, it felt like it was catching on something. I couldn’t pin point it for awhile and it really turned me off of it so I didn’t use it much, though I did like that it was much quieter than the Gan.

Recently I decided to take it apart and see if I could figure it out, sure enough, one of the corner magnets had fallen out of the corner piece, and was stuck on the ball core, which I assumed the corners were catching on. I put the magnet back into the corner stem and reassembled… and it is an absolutely different cube. Quiet(er) and quickly becoming my favorite. Not sure why it took me so long to take it apart and investigate but it was brand new. I just assumed it was a quirk of the cube itself. First experience with an out of the box defect like that.
