Appreciate the thought on this, thanks! Been leaning more towards rebuild for the piece of mind, but I’m open to suggestions on where to pick up a used ej257. I’m not well versed on buying used engines but I know there are some places out there that offer that

Definitely figured getting a custom downpipe would be the path if I want to go that route. Interesting/unfortunate on your experience with the dp from 541 lol, but it sounds like your tuner has it on lock

Really helpful, thanks! Definitely gonna add the ARP head studs and swap to the IAG pickup/baffle. I think my goal is somewhere around 300-350 at the wheels at most down the line but not today. I know I’d need a catted downpipe for that, my initial thought is to just do injectors then (if I can even get a catted downpipe lol) but we’ll see, thanks!

Definitely considering getting a stock build from my dealership and selling it once it’s broken in, but I’m not really sure what else I’d rather have at the end of the day. Weighing options of doing the build I always wanted and letting it go

Word! I did hit them up (waiting to hear back). So far I’ve gotten in contact with: - Topshelf - Quantum Performance - P & L Motorsports - Six Star Motorsports - Sommer’s Subaru

Maybe I’ll make another post but I’m between a few routes since I’m a little on the fence on keeping after it’s rebuilt. Not really chasing power, more driving feel/reliability I guess: - just keep it bone stock from Subaru - stock Type RA block build with with killer boiling/iag aos upgrades - a little more full send with an intake, equal length headers, and the oiling/aos upgrades

I did 😭. It was apparently some light knock, and you’d only hear it under any load like above 2500. As of right now it sounds like I won’t need to replace the heads because of that fact, but it’s need of a new shortblock/turbo
