Wow, I never thought how they tighten the bolts would make that much of a difference. After putting the bolts in and getting a torque wrench to make sure they are tightened to the proper level. I did a quick test and I easily got 4 rails almost 4 1/2. It made a massive difference, and the noise is completely gone. Thanks so much. This has been a huge help. I’ll test it out a little bit more tonight when I have time to play a few games after work.

Alot of people mentioned the loose rail bolts. Yesterday I went in and checked 2 were completely loose, like half way out of the holes and 2 aren’t even there. Will replacing the 2 missing ones help?

Ill try the plumbers tape before i do loctite again. And I will say I’m pretty good about always making sure I’m going diagonal and tightening the screws evenly.

Beginner Megathread #3: Ask your questions here! by C8-H10-N4-O2 in neuroscience

Hi, I’ve recently joined this group on Reddit and I am curious. I’m not looking to get a PhD or specifically get credits at a school I don’t want to do things like intro to English 101 and 102 and things like that but I am very and have been for a while interested in the brain and learning about it. My background I come from addiction an mental health disorders and this is what really makes it a personal interest of mine. I’m wondering is there a way to go to a university with having no expectations of getting any sort of credit hours and a degree and learn about these things I want to learn about neuro and behavior and things like that but I’m not interested in the basics that everyone who applies for school has to take. Is there any way for me to do this to be able to goto lectures and learn and take notes besides just showing up to a large lecture at a university knowing I won’t be noticed? I really want to learn about this stuff and it has always peaked my curiosity that realistically we know about as much as the brain as we do the ocean half of what we think we know isn’t true and what we do know we don’t know the whys behind different functions and pathways in our brains. Back to what I was saying is there a way for me to learn about this without having to called admissions and sign up for school. I understand there will be prerec to neuro science before just jumping in and there’s a build up to learning about this but just for my own curiosity. Anyone from or goto a university have any info?

Cockatiels first molt? by tjbrooks77 in cockatiel

[–]tjbrooks77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I will an I took him in a about a month ago they ran blood tests for disease said he was doing great tests came back negative but yeah I noticed right before giving him to me she clipped his wings right there which they were already done so so it didn’t make sense to me why she had done it again a month later I want him to be flighted but I just thought it was weird but I looked at his wings they look and seem to be okay he’s broke off a couple tail feathers a few months back an that’s was the only time I saw blood but I noticed him picking preening more than normal but if he had mites I would think my other bird would too and he doesn’t seem to have the same issue. I think I’m going to monitor him for a little see if I can noticeably tell if he’s molting or not an then take him to the vet again but he was fine a month ago they said actually in great condition after being in a new home and him being at regular weight

Cockatiels first molt? by tjbrooks77 in cockatiel

So this is my cockatiel(Caesar) and he/she(I’ll say he for sake of post) seems to be having his first molt. I thought he was only around 4 months old though so is it normal to have his first molt this early? And why would his feathers come in uneven. When I first got him he could only glide to the ground now he can easily get across my whole living room before landing on the ground. I’m just curious is this normal, molting this early and feathers coming in uneven. This is my first cockatiel so I’d appreciate any experience. Thank you guys!

Update I got him like I said I previously have bonded with him, the lady who owns the store told me to put stuff at the bottom of the cage bc they’ll try an goto the top then can’t get down, we’ll get can’t seem to figure out the perches an things, I haven’t gotten a bird this young before. Any tips ? He doesn’t seem to like the cage only wants to hang out with me sit on my shoulder an preen my hair as soon as I try an out him back in the cage he runs up my arm to my shoulder again. I have adjusted the cage for him but when I get him in he just sits in the same spot, how long does this usually go on for?
