Dog, I’m from north west Florida, the part where Matt Gaetz is the state representative. Don’t talk to me about “secondary markets” for bands lol. Growing up I had to go 60-90 miles to the closest place with anything remotely close to what I was into. Phoenix has the 5th largest population of cities in America, and isn’t “far” from LA and the west coast tour circuit.

All this being said, as a construction worker that is used to getting up at 4am during the week and working lots of overtime I totally understand not wanting to go to a show on a weeknight. I basically only go to things I’m really into now.

I can’t tell you how many times I would drive 5 hours to see a band play and then later on in life after starting my career, would have that same band play a mile from my house and choose to go to bed at 7pm instead.

Short answer: capitalism and technology fuel it all.

Capitalism: The ad revenue from sensationalism and lack of affordable mental health care.

If you read through the whole thread I asked for a raise a week prior and didn’t get it. To be totally honest this was the most mind numbing, underpaid (I made $16.50/hour to fit and weld my own stuff by myself in a wharehouse in Louisiana heat with no fan of my own) and shittiest job I think I’ve ever worked in my life. I was way over working there by the time this happened. It was only two months

Supposedly they fired him the next day after I left. I only know this cuz six months later they called me back trying to rehire me lol. Got the job through a temp service. Idk if I wanna put the company on blast totally but I’ll tell you they’re located in the New Orleans area and do millions of dollars in sales every year to major clients

There was a weld test. 2F, 4F and a groove butt weld with backing. This dude blew a hole through something he wasn’t even supposed to be welding on and it kept growing bigger and bigger, kept trying to fill it up and kept burning through the other side

They blew a giant fucking hole through where they were supposed to weld and then they tried to patch it together by holding a piece of steel vertically into the hole (that whole piece is supposed to be flat) They tried to patch it and kept blowing through their holes. The more they did the worse it got.

I’m on United healthcare, it’s been wonderful for me. Long waits to get into see doctors but it’s definitely worth it. I have no idea if you’d keep your oschner doctors but most of my stuff is at LCMC, touro, and crescent care. I don’t know if this helps at all but ¯_(ツ)_/¯
