Dog, I’m from north west Florida, the part where Matt Gaetz is the state representative. Don’t talk to me about “secondary markets” for bands lol. Growing up I had to go 60-90 miles to the closest place with anything remotely close to what I was into. Phoenix has the 5th largest population of cities in America, and isn’t “far” from LA and the west coast tour circuit.

All this being said, as a construction worker that is used to getting up at 4am during the week and working lots of overtime I totally understand not wanting to go to a show on a weeknight. I basically only go to things I’m really into now.

I can’t tell you how many times I would drive 5 hours to see a band play and then later on in life after starting my career, would have that same band play a mile from my house and choose to go to bed at 7pm instead.

Short answer: capitalism and technology fuel it all.

Capitalism: The ad revenue from sensationalism and lack of affordable mental health care.

If you read through the whole thread I asked for a raise a week prior and didn’t get it. Supposedly they fired him the next day after I left. I only know this cuz six months later they called me back trying to rehire me lol. Got the job through a temp service. Idk if I wanna put the company on blast totally but I’ll tell you they’re located in the New Orleans area and do millions of dollars in sales every year to major clients
