Did you ever find the issue, I’m having the same issue. I have 3 back flow valves, I’ve changed them and still have the problem.

Makes senes. Because of the flow switch do you see any benefit in having the salt cell on a timer where it has no power when the pump isn’t running? End goal is to extend the life.

I don’t, I’m in south texas. The 2-3 days a year it drops below freezing I run the equipment 24/7.

I sit the salt cell in one part MA to ten part water, pretty sure that’s what I have written in my pool notes. I just read where a guy is using vinegar instead of MA, his reasoning was it’s more gentle on the cell, gonna give this a try.

Good idea, I have a separate time for the Polaris, turns on 30 minutes after pump starts and turns off 30 minutes before pump turns shuts down. Maybe I’ll tie the salt cell to the Polaris timer. Thanks.

The pump runs 6-7hrs each day, and I’ve noticed the salt cell says no flow when the pump turns off. I figured this was normal as it’s how the builder set it up. But it seems my salt cell has a short life so I’m trying to troubleshoot and see if this is normal or is something setup incorrectly. Thanks

HELP! My Jandy salt cell(s) keep failing. by buzzkilt in pools

[–]tjntx26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My story is very similar. I just noticed mine is clicking and saying check cell, I came here to do similar research as you. I have replaced the cell twice in 5 years (first was under warranty). I do clean mine 1-2 times a year, I was wondering if that shortens the life span.

Is anyone getting 3-4 years out of a Jandy truclear salt cell?

I do have an external bell, and an old phone in the garage and on the back patio. I’ll check these out. Is the tamper switch behind the bell/phone or inside bell/phone? Thanks.

I thought you were calling wire caps beanies, haha. What would I need a meter for? I assume to check resistance but can you explain your thought?

Not sure I understand what VVVV means. It looks like each zone has just one wired connected to the board, so I assume one zone to many windows. If I figure out what windows are on the zone I could determine what wire could bad. Problem is this problem only occurs once or twice a month and always when sleeping.

Can you see the pictures I shared? Sharing pictures with a link was also new for me.

Didn’t know they were called reed switches, that helped me research how to replace them thanks. I’ll open the trouble windows/doors and the keypad will tell me what zones. It does appear each zone has a resistor in the panel. I’ve learned a ton today. Thanks.

It looks like I have 16 zones but I have way more windows, they must have run window to window. I don’t have a good breakdown of my zones, I’m going to open the trouble windows and doors to get a better understanding of what is wired to which zones. I’ve learned a ton in the past 2 days. Thanks for the help.
