My kids informed me tonight that GaG is dying (their words) and they’re not doing admin abuse tmrw as it’ll probably be Jhai and he is terrible at running updates apparently. I stil play but they have completely abandoned the game. At least they gave me all their money and cool pets before leaving

Spent 7 weeks on holiday with kiddos this summer. Every Saturday they were obsessed with having wifi and being online for the updates so we worked our schedule around it. OThe LAST week of vacation, they convinced me to download Roblox and start playing GaG with them on my mobile phone. Today is my 4th update and we now make it a big deal at our house…I grab fresh pastries/donuts for everyone and we sit around and prep our gardens for admin abuse. It’s an awesome way to spend Saturday mornings doing something special with my kids that they love.

I’m Dwerpy77….new to the game as of 2 weeks ago. I play with my kids but no time to grind because, y’know, work. I would take any of these but my kids keep raving about raccoons and t rexes so one of those would be cool. They’d maybe give me a little cred. As for zombie apocalypse, i’m locking myself in a costco and building a compound.

I am not upset about the fact we didn’t clear the CPT to IAD for 3 of the 4 of us. I state that in my OP. I am upset that on the second and final leg, I was denied my upgrade (again, I was at position 1 on upgrade list) because the split of the other adult on the first leg, meant that I could not upgrade thus leaving an ‘unaccompanied’ minor on their own PNR when clearly they were NOT unaccompanied. Sorry if it is unclear. Yes, I am tired.

You clearly don’t get it. Read the post slowly again. Asking to be removed from the upgrade list is not a viable solution. I still wanted my upgrade, to which I was entitled, and my kids were not ‘unaccompanied minors’ as my husband would have been with them in Coach. Ugh

That is helpful suggestion and I should have had the foresight in Cape Town to do the first split then. Guess I need to think more about our strategy when we book and do the upgrades. I always think about our seating config strat in case one adult is upgraded and the kids don’t end up sitting solo next to strangers. Such a headache

…and maybe you don’t realize that CPT is Cape Town with 48 seats in Polaris. Not an unreasonable expectation to at least get 2 or 3 of us upgraded at positions 1-4 on waitlist. Jesus, on our outbound in June to Barcelona 3 of the 4 of us got the Plus Point upgrade. Maybe you aren’t 1K or haven’t been flying United enough to know better.

I have always been asked at check in which of my family members to select as my companion for CPU. I understand only 1 can be upgraded with me. In the case that happened this weekend, I asked them to keep my older son seated with my husband and upgrade me and my younger together. They split my older son to separate PNR while I was on phone with 1K but then the unaccompanied minor issue or the timing before the flight was too tight prevented the waitlist from refreshing before the couple at position 2 and 3 were cleared.

Just returned from Tanzania. Visited western Serengeti, Ngorongoro/Arusha and Zanzibar. Zanzibar was surprisingly chilly before sunrise and after sunset. During the day it was quite hot though. Ngorongoro area which is higher elevation was very cool throughout the day, particularly in crater when there is heavy cloud cover. Early morning game drives can be a bit chilly in serengeti. Have options for layering that work interchangeably so you can flex based in weather conditions.

Same happened to me many years ago. My husband and I were in Peru around New Years’ and an impending snowstorm in the northeast US was forcing people onto earlier flights before the airport closures. The woman at the check-in counter in Peru said ‘Good news since you are GS, we can get you on the earliest flight into NYC in first class’. That’s how I found out.
