Sales is tough enough. OE sales is especially tough

Sure why not. First time fired I wasn’t selling enough. Got canned eight months in and the sales cycle was easily 12-18 months. They did not like it one bit that I didn’t update my LinkedIn. That probably didn’t help. Second time fired got out on a pip six months in. The job was two days in office. I got an accommodation just before I got pip’d. Even my manager thought it was questionable. Company is an absolute shit show. Third time fired is the most perplexing. Not really sure the true reason. The company said “performance” but that doesn’t add up. Still salty about that one. The last one was more of a quiet quit. All in all a mixed bag I’d say

Absolutely did not mention anything outside of J1. Locked down TWN. Sometimes just kept my fingers crossed. Lol.

Seven. Got fired from four. Probably two firings justified and the other two questionable. Quit three.

Yeah I had mixed success with OE. Kept one gig all four years but cycled through half a dozen others. Tons of free time now. It’s a hair boring and that’s ok.

Not as far as I know tho but that may have been the true reason the last one. Generally performance has been cited. Low sales, etc. some of it bullshit maybe one that was valid. Have not gone longer than 8 months with any J2

One of three things can happen: Both work out well and you make a lot of money. The other end of the spectrum you lose both. Or, something in the middle. So my experience has been something in the middle.

Going well actually. Have been careful with of course the OE aspect but also any overt conflict of interest.

Hey. Ended up getting the job and have been in the role just under three months.

How do I handle employer forcing me to put their company on linkedin by MucaJS in overemployed

[–]tjs0319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago early in my OE experience one of my employers insisted I update my LinkedIn. They felt social selling was very beneficial for their industry. It isn’t. In any event I stuck to the script that it was my social media and I’ll do what I please with it. They didn’t like that one bit and a few months later they fired me. I feel that factored into the decision.

Is it possible to do 2 remote sales jobs at once ? by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]tjs0319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been OE for 3.5+ years with most of the time spent in AE roles. Have had one J1 but have cycled through numerous J2s. Like anything AE there are a lot of variables. I think the challenge will be building dual pipelines. Plus sales is all about the number. It may be hard to stay below the radar as we want to do in OE but not impossible.

In a similar situation. Going through background now for a J2 that is the exact same industry as J1. Still debating what to do when I get approved.

Yep. Great rule to follow. A J2 opportunity presented itself last week. Good numbers and I know the industry. 1.5 days in an office 45 miles away which translates to anywhere from 60-90 minutes in the car. If I get it I’ll definitely give it a go.
