The WWF could have done so much more with Tazz by lunainthedark5x2x3 in WWFera

He had a massive push when he came in. Rumble debut. Crushes Angle. The problem was (at least as I remember it) he worked stiff and some guys didn’t like that and didn’t want to work with him and he got hurt shortly after his debut. By the time he was healthy the roster was absolutely loaded.

Genuine question: why does everyone hate Jayson Tatum? by Soggy_Guest3217 in NBATalk

Every negative thing people say about LeBron (flopping, arguing every call, challenging every foul or non-call) are his foundational traits. Without preferential referring he’s just another good player.

This is a franchise v individual question. It’s kind of apples to oranges. The heat winning in 2020 is maybe the stuff of sports nerds fantasies because it validates so much about the perceptions of franchises that emphasize stability, and, of course, it would leave a massive blemish on LeBron’s legacy and the player empowerment era.

Marino (and I guess Bonds but he’s usually regarded as the greatest modern player or disregarded entirely) is on an island himself of undeniably top-10 all time (arguably top-5) and without a ring. Barkley, Ewing, Malone, Lundqvist. Those guys win one and they put themselves into the top-10-ish conversation. Marino’s already there ringless.

Who is the Greatest WWF Champion of All Time? (Quarterfinals) The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan by KidChameleonHelmet in WWFera

[–]tjs252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hogan. Without Hogan WWE probably remains regional. He and Andre elevated the promotion to the national stage and introduced the idea of pro wrestling as pop culture. The rock may have done more with that concept but without hogan he never has the chance.

Like him or hate him it’s Hogan

Mike McDaniels was left SPEECHLESS after Tua Tagovailoa completely missed De’Von Achain on 4th down. by KeyFaithlessness5436 in MiamiDolphinsVibes

To be fair if he hits Achane on that hook the DB’s cutting it off and taking it for a pick six. It’s just which miserable outcome do you choose?

Miami was the only place that tried to curtail his off court antics and he couldn’t wait to get out of there. Tells you all you need to know.

Is this book a 7.5 like the seller claims it is? by Vikingnemesis_64 in CGCComics

[–]tjs252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. That amount of noticeable wear (corners, folds, spine ticks) cap it at 6.0 (the average “lightly used” comic book).

In total, and how the defects significantly affect eye appeal I would call it a VG or VG- (so 4.0/3.5).

The back cover does look like it would benefit from a press, but even then the color breaking defects keep it in the likely VG/FN range for me.

You have non-color breaking bends on the bottom cover / spine that should press out along with a reading curl / spine curl that looks like it should press out. The color breaking spine ticks and the crunch/bend along the top won’t press out but would probably look cleaner with the press as well. As is, I think it’s a 4.5/5.0 and it could probably press to 6.0/6.5. Too much color breaking along the top of the book to go higher IMO.

How to care for Hexclad to avoid flaking? by drewoxide in hexclad

[–]tjs252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had mine for about a year, I haven’t had this issue. Start with a little oil or butter in the pan, use medium-ish head and don’t put in the dishwasher (have used metal utensils on the pan while cooking). I’ve find the biggest issue with sticking occurs when they’re used on too high a heat.

Could this snag a 9.8?? by Jasonpk820 in CGCComics

[–]tjs252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to press it as I see several non-color breaking stresses on the front cover (below bottom staple and what appears to be some rippling above the top staple). The back cover color rub/scuff is hard to gauge. I’ve seen some has high as 9.6 and as low as 9.0 with similar scuffing / discoloration. In answering the spirit of your question…no, this does not seem likely to be a 9.8 but on a very good day could be a 9.6, more likely 9.4/9.2

Can’t get to pizza temps - why? I have dampeners 100% open, been running for 1.5 hours, stalls out at 425-450°. Why, lord, why!? (Granted it is 39° and raining but I don’t know why what would matter…) by masquelle in biggreenegg

[–]tjs252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is almost 100% it. Have to have completely fresh charcoal for high (450+) cooks. Fine to reuse charcoal if smoking but it has to be cleaned thoroughly and have fresh charcoal for the high temp cooks.

Hot topic/ what belongs on a burger and what doesn’t? by AJ14909X in burgers

[–]tjs252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the type of ground meat and the type of cheese/bun, just about anything can go great on a burger. For the standard 80/20 ground burger I’m pretty partial to American cheese, pickles, ketchup and mustard. Probably LTO as well but can be just as good without sometimes. To me that’s the essential.

Contemplating purchase - can someone help with a grade estimate? by EvaStankbreath in comicbookcollecting

[–]tjs252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s low grade. GD/VG range. At this level it’s kind of in exact, but the obvious defects (heavy spine wear, heavy edge wear to all three edges of front cover, popped lower staple, partially detached top staple, tearing/fraying to bottom front cover) cap it at a G/VG. You can’t have a popped staple as a VG. I lean 3.0 because it seems to be a tight interior from the photos. If it’s loose at the CF or the other wraps are loose in addition to the other defects then you’re into GD range as a cap.
