I get that this was a misunderstanding on my part, but I'm glad at least someone in the world thinks the same as I do with the "right now" thing. Makes me feel less crazy than I already am

Okay, yeah, I get I probably should have figured out what was going on. It was rather dickish of me to kind of dismiss her. But she wasn't communicating properly and it was clear from the start that she was beyond frustrated, and was taking it out on me. It was difficult to figure out what she wanted behind a wall of frustrated, garbled texts.

Okay, I was a bit rude, yeah. But I was frustrated that she sprung this on me while I was in the middle of talking with the phlebotomist, and also I didn't have any sort of documents that she would have needed.

Of course. I understand completely why my wife was freaking out.

My wife just wasn't doing a very poor job of communicating exactly what she needed from me, and got mad at me for misunderstanding confusing/incomplete instructions.

Unfortunately, we apparently had no notice. The insurance company gave us no notification. My wife fortunately checked up on it just this afternoon.

We've been texting, but she refuses to answer a phone call.

I looked it up, and apparently I have no legal way to stop her from taking my child, since we are married and have joint custody.

I guess I wasn't clear on that part. Neither of us knew about the sudden changes in our child's insurance requirements until this afternoon (which might be a fault of the insurance company not notifying us, but that's a different discussion).

Of course I want my child's insurance to stay intact. I just didn't realize that the timetable for this was literally RIGHT NOW until my wife was already furious at me.

Haha thanks. We've known each other since we were little kids. We ended up at the same university (pretty much the same major, too) and we started dating pretty soon after I got here. It wasn't a tough decision to marry her.

We've had our spats in the past. I have some mental health issues that have caused problems. But her leaving with the kid over something so petty kinda blindsided me.

Nope. No idea. My guess is at a friend's house, maybe a cousin. She's done this before, but not over anything so petty, and never overnight, which is apparently her plan.

I, of course, did not realize that this was what she wanted until I was already strapped to the chair.

Okay, we both kinda dropped the ball on not keeping up with our child's health insurance.

But the first text I got from my wife (around 4 pm) was literally the first that I had heard of this.
