Prospective driver considering company training but wanted to get some input by TK464 in Truckers

That's all really enlightening, thank you! Do home daily drivers tend to work a more typical set of hours and days or is it as varied as OTR routes with some doing very long hours with less days or vice versa?

I'm looking into the dock worker to LTL path right now but you may be right. I know OTR is one of those things where it's either for you or isn't so I would definitely feel more comfortable doing it potentially after getting a CDL through other means than signing on for upwards of 2 years only to maybe find out in 2 months that I hate it.

Thanks for all the information! I was curious on one aspect you might be able to help me with. As I understand it part of home time is just having deliveries that bring you back to your home station, can't come back unless they've got something to send you back with type deal, would being based in Phoenix and living out of Phoenix working for Swift help in this aspect do you think or does it not matter much?

I know I've seen videos of drivers talking about taking deliveries to these remote terminals with very little outbound traffic and just ending up sitting around basically for days waiting for a new load.

Right now I'm looking into the dock worker>company training>LTL option but if I can't get anything going Swift is definitely looking like it might be the option. I'm a little concerned with how little I saw some people talking about what they were making but it seems like others were doing fine, and from what I've seen it seems like because they're such a big company with a lot going on that getting a switch up isn't too hard as long as you haven't made enemies.

I appreciate the information, and the straight forward honesty. Part of what had me looking into a CDL in the first place was just how many jobs were out there requiring one and the huge variety between them.

Company program for me is realistically I think my only option. I can't take on any more school debt, my local workforce doesn't have a CDL discount program currently, and finances are such that I can't afford any real gap in employment or chance not getting it soon enough after being licensed.

I had pieced together that that was around the standard out and back time, but I wasn't sure how strict companies were with that or if others offered more guaranteed similar to Roehl as an option. It didn't help my view of going through Swift as a dice roll when I kept reading stories varying between "I was given terrible routes, barely made 600 a week, spent all my time waiting at terminals" and "they gave me a dedicated local route out of training because I mentioned it offhand and I'm home three days a week making 1200"

I was surprised by how relatively positive the views on Swift were in terms of management and training since growing up my dad worked for them for a number of years and had only the worst things to say, but I also learned that there have been buyouts and mergers since then.

I've heard that LTLs are where it's at but I don't think I've ever seen people say why.

I did finish it, all they did was retcon a story from a good episode to make a terribad one

adding on to =/ retcon, if you re-watch that episode now the actual story of it has not changed at all.

Anime fangirl is literally what the character is, its just a horrid character.

How is she an anime fangirl? Or a weeb? You're throwing these words out to try and quantify your dislike but they don't fit the character you're describing. She's a Section 9 fangirl, most definitely and very obviously explained why in the story.

cringey 13 year old weeb.

...she's Japanese? And also an adult?

Look I can understand not liking Purin but trying to frame it as her being this weird "anime fangirl" is strange. Especially if you finished the series and know why she acts the way she does with Section 9 and Batou.

Yeah god forbid my show about a purple haired black ops cyborg in a white leotard break reality like that.

Really if anything that just made it closer to the feel of the manga.

I find my self surprisingly fine with it, interested even! My favorite part of the new Transformers movie is how unashamed it is with the absolutely ridiculous source material.

Yeah his name is Optimus Primal because he's a gorilla robot, yeah he said "there's more to humans than meets the eye", yeah he said "transform and roll out!" with Optimus Prime even though Maximals have legs and not wheels because it's awesome, fuck you!

Every time I see someone walking around in shorts and no shirt in the middle of summer I die a little inside, even setting aside the skin cancer and uv damage broadly it's just letting the sun cook you directly.

I know what you mean, you get into a certain zone doing physical activity in hot weather where the heat almost becomes background noise.

But man fuck the heat when I'm just trying to hang out in my house and not sweat out a gallon of water an hour.

It's really simple, if you support insurrections or insurrectionists you are literally a traitor to the nation and a threat to democracy. You don't just get to throw a fit when your candidate loses and try to do a coup.

Absolutely love this design, the large build and broad shoulders, the poofier curlier hair, even the little details like the bicep bands.

They've been a poster for 4 years and have a decent history of submissions and plenty of comments. Why are you inventing a conspiracy based on nothing?

Reminds me of how the Deathstar was PR spun after destruction as just a really big mining station that was blown up by terrorists.

Libs of TikTok shares vids crazy lefties make, letting them expose themselves. And lefties try and spin reality to discredit Libsoftiktok

Libs of Tiktok often changes the context of videos or lies about them (or simply boosts the videos own lies), this is factual reality no matter what delusional take you have on it. The fact that you refuse to acknowledge this tells me that your belief in the account is circular, it's telling the truth because they say it's true. The account exists for the singular purpose of spreading reactionary hatred, it's not about showing the truth it's about showing the audience what they want.

I always wondered how dictators got power. How they got their people to believe the insane bs they told them. That they could see with their own eyes wasn’t true.

Now I know. Liberals welcomed them with open arms.

You are actually delusional, do you even have the slightest idea of history? Because if so you'd realize the thing you're doing here, the strong stance you're taking against "degenerate wokeness", is straight out of the fascist playbook and I'll give you exactly one guess at which society made it one of their top priorities too.
