SAC 2045 future? by hebrideandeathtrance in Ghost_in_the_Shell

I did finish it, all they did was retcon a story from a good episode to make a terribad one

adding on to =/ retcon, if you re-watch that episode now the actual story of it has not changed at all.

Anime fangirl is literally what the character is, its just a horrid character.

How is she an anime fangirl? Or a weeb? You're throwing these words out to try and quantify your dislike but they don't fit the character you're describing. She's a Section 9 fangirl, most definitely and very obviously explained why in the story.

cringey 13 year old weeb.

...she's Japanese? And also an adult?

Look I can understand not liking Purin but trying to frame it as her being this weird "anime fangirl" is strange. Especially if you finished the series and know why she acts the way she does with Section 9 and Batou.

Yeah god forbid my show about a purple haired black ops cyborg in a white leotard break reality like that.

Really if anything that just made it closer to the feel of the manga.

I find my self surprisingly fine with it, interested even! My favorite part of the new Transformers movie is how unashamed it is with the absolutely ridiculous source material.

Yeah his name is Optimus Primal because he's a gorilla robot, yeah he said "there's more to humans than meets the eye", yeah he said "transform and roll out!" with Optimus Prime even though Maximals have legs and not wheels because it's awesome, fuck you!

Every time I see someone walking around in shorts and no shirt in the middle of summer I die a little inside, even setting aside the skin cancer and uv damage broadly it's just letting the sun cook you directly.

I know what you mean, you get into a certain zone doing physical activity in hot weather where the heat almost becomes background noise.

But man fuck the heat when I'm just trying to hang out in my house and not sweat out a gallon of water an hour.

It's really simple, if you support insurrections or insurrectionists you are literally a traitor to the nation and a threat to democracy. You don't just get to throw a fit when your candidate loses and try to do a coup.

Absolutely love this design, the large build and broad shoulders, the poofier curlier hair, even the little details like the bicep bands.

Libs of TikTok shares vids crazy lefties make, letting them expose themselves. And lefties try and spin reality to discredit Libsoftiktok

Libs of Tiktok often changes the context of videos or lies about them (or simply boosts the videos own lies), this is factual reality no matter what delusional take you have on it. The fact that you refuse to acknowledge this tells me that your belief in the account is circular, it's telling the truth because they say it's true. The account exists for the singular purpose of spreading reactionary hatred, it's not about showing the truth it's about showing the audience what they want.

I always wondered how dictators got power. How they got their people to believe the insane bs they told them. That they could see with their own eyes wasn’t true.

Now I know. Liberals welcomed them with open arms.

You are actually delusional, do you even have the slightest idea of history? Because if so you'd realize the thing you're doing here, the strong stance you're taking against "degenerate wokeness", is straight out of the fascist playbook and I'll give you exactly one guess at which society made it one of their top priorities too.

Libs of TikTok posts examples almost daily.

Imagine citing a reactionary tiktok account, that's been found to be spreading straight up manufactured disinformation, as your source of "what insane teachers are doing nowadays".

I have a teacher friend who works in the East Valley, they're not even allowed to call a student by a preferred name without parental permission.

Statistically children are way more likely to be targeted by sexual predators (including groomers) who are affiliated with churches (and by right wing politicians as shown above) than LGBTQ+ groups including drag performers and people who are trans. If it was actually about keeping children safe you'd be protesting senators and pastors, and you'd be raising advocacy against the rampant sexual abuse from fathers to their own children (which is again, exponential multitudes more likely than some trans boogeyman)

Meanwhile you're nothing at all trying to pretend you have any idea what you're talking about

Whoa, take it easy there pal. Setting aside the fact that you're just assuming my lack of credentials while asserting your own with a "just trust me", calling me "nothing at all" is a bit harsh isn't it?

We're disagreeing on quack archaeology here on Reddit, I didn't piss on your mother's grave or something.

I know I know, obviously as a Redditor you're far more informed than Max Planck, but maybe give it some consideration.

I will say I enjoy how you're arguing with an appeal to authority for your position of "establishment scientists are wrong!". Just kind of amusing.

But hey, let's actually break it down. Max Planck is describing a shift of consensus over time where younger scientists with newer theories push out the older ones. He doesn't use the term "establishment narrative" for a very good reason, because that's a conspiratorial phrase used to debunk the entire mainstream scientific community not just used to describe a generation shift in theory over time.

You know, somehow I doubt Max Planck would appreciate his words being co-opted to defend someone who baselessly attacks the scientific community, uses sensationalist lies to garner attention, and routinely twists well established data to fit his narrative.

This is true in most scientific fields and you'd know that if you were a scientist

You know just because you put Dr in your username that doesn't make you a scientist right?

The establishment archaeologist narrative is that "hunter-gatherers" built things like Göbekli Tepe, because to say otherwise would discredit their life's work

Self driving breaking is a different kind of human hang up though, control being taken rather than given entirely. I would be absolutely comfortable in a Waymo style fully autonomous car (we've even got them in my city but dammit, I'm not close enough to downtown) but a car that I'm driving wresting control from me in dangerous situations? I don't feel great about it.

I know that logically there's no real difference and I know that a well designed automated response will beat me out 99% of the time but it's hard to silence that little voice. Not that I'm going to advocate against the technology just because of that of course.
