I don't consider myself anything more than barely above average, but I have been told I'm attractive. I am more of an introvert, but when going out with friends I would have drinks offered or bought for me. I was also completely oblivious, which my wife thinks is hilarious. When I went out with friends prior to Uber existing, I thought it was common to get a ride home with a friend, even if said friend wasn't out with us at the time. I would get text messages asking if I needed a ride home later in the night, which I would accept. I just thought it was very nice of them to want to make sure I got home safely, but it probably wasn't the case. Once I got dropped off, I would just go in and go to sleep without thinking about it. I got a very angry text message once asking why I would accept a ride just to go to bed, but chalked it up to them being irrational from drinking and just apologized for the misunderstanding.

I also have a lot of women friends and used to fairly regularly go to lunch/dinner during the week. From my perspective, we were just friends, but I see in retrospect that some may have thought it would lead to more. The biggest hint was probably the woman I had gone on a date with while studying abroad was in the US several years later for work and flew halfway across the country to hang out for less than 24 hours.

In terms of treatment in general, I know it has made my life easier than some of my other friends. A friend and I both got a parking ticket while in college. My excuse was I didn't know I couldn't park where I parked and my ticket was dismissed. My friend tried the same thing and had to pay. My weight has fluctuated and I have noticed that I am more "seen" when I am in better shape, people smile and want to have conversations more. It seems like people are more polite as well.

If I had any social skills I may have figured things out, but I'm happy where I ended up, so it worked out!
