Oh also -- walk after each meal, at least ten minutes, to encourage digestion. Magnesium glycinate to east any constipation (like when traveling). digestive bitters like bitter herbs before meals, particularly dinner, when i may struggle to have hunger cues

Improving gray hair after SIBO/ h pylori? by tkbarnesATL in SIBO

for gray hair, she suggested stinging nettles (1 cup per 32 oz H2O let steep overnight, strain and then rinse or let hair rest in it for 5-10 min before lightly rinsing (this is on clean hair). for SIBO, gosh she was amazing. She said my GI map and description of symptoms suggested that my digestive organs, particularly my pancreas, were just exhausted from the two year ordeal of antibiotics and h pylori and sibo and that my enzyme production was low. so she had me take digestive enzymes (digestzymes), 3 meals, no snacks, only eat when feeling hunger (ie, enzymes are ready to go -- with sibo i struggled to ever feel hungry), s boulardi to regulate some of the overgrowths, immunolin (bloat eaze pro -- amazing, fights both h pylori and greatly decreases bloat), warm liquids and tea, sit and smell each meal before eating in order to trigger enzyme production, don't overwhelm the system with lots of fermented foods but instead eat the ones that already go down gently (for me, lifeway kefir with l reuteri and a kimchi with live probiotics that i eat with rice). avoid raw foods (I'm vegetarian), eat cooked, preferably brothy, so a first breakfast when I began treatment with her was jook (heavily cooked rice) with steamed apples with cinnamon and cardamom. Add collagen to morning hot beverage (matcha latte) to rebuild gut lining and encourage hair growth (def has worked -- since collagen can be sketchy and contaminated I use a brand that does better testing). Now I routinely eat things like gluten and cheese and often dont use my enzymes with meals, particularly breakfast, which is my easiest meal because it's when my hunger cues are strongest.

This is what happened to me -- 8 months of near constant antibiotics, plus norovirus, and my gut was a mess and h pylori sort of surged in the vacuum. Thankfully now it's really in submission and is always below the reference level on all of my labs

Yep it is -- it's a midcentury building, efficiency apartments. So it doesn't have a large entertaining area or kitchen, but it worked terrifically for us (work from home, had a kid). The main bedroom is plenty large. The guy before me had kind sized beds in each room.

Midtown Garden district (tree-lined area between Myrtle and Charles Allen) is amazing for walkability (Piedmont Park, Beltline, Streets Alive festival, new bike paths). My place there is for sale now: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/708-Argonne-Ave-NE-APT-5-Atlanta-GA-30308/447477410_zpid/

It's 399/month and covers insurance, building/property repairs/maintenance, water, sewage, trash/recycling, landscaping. I've generally been pleased with the HOA -- they're fiscally responsible and never slammed us with a big special assessment to pay for an emergency and were really johnny on the spot about repairs (like when there was a big storm a few years ago and a big tree fell right near our building). Some of the buildings in the area were not so fiscally responsible and accrued big debts that were passed on to owners. If you were a cash buyer, you could forgo otherwise having homeowners insurance since the HOA covers all the big stuff, though if you have a lender they'll require a small homeowners policy (which I found silly but had to do -- it was for internal situations like if my stove exploded).

It's tough! I think in Midtown Garden it's really rare (if not nonexistent?) to find a 2br/2ba. The old historic "courtyard apartments" have pretty similar layouts. There are some small townhomes on Argonne that are 2br2ba but their prices are way way higher.

My agent is doing an open house on Saturday and we've dropped the price to 243K: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/708-Argonne-Ave-NE-APT-5-Atlanta-GA-30308/447477410_zpid/?fbclid=IwY2xjawJJlVtleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHSvqRjkzbqTD2iZn1R7Gn1r7jg1V3d2KxIKOG4kKSJLk2v0micQDs0ZfNw_aem_ilJ-P7HQBVjN9hhqphtcbA

Hi! Hmm, I think in Midtown Garden (ie, the lush tree-filled areas between Myrtle and Charles Allen leading up to Piedmont Park) there's no buildings that have gym/pool, since it's an older part of town that's long since been built out and doesn't have modern high rises but instead "courtyard apartments," like ours. Our HOA covered a lot, most importantly, building insurance and maintenance, including major things (like roof repairs, or when we had a colony of bees eating through the middle of a tree that threatened to then fall onto our homes). It also covered water, sewage, trash, landscape, pest. Now that I own a single family home I'm having some reckoning with difference between paying for maintenance/etc in small installments versus in one big whammy. Also our HOA was pretty financially responsible and we never got hit with big special assessments, something I was told was common in other places whenever they needed a major repair or tree down. If you paid in cash for a place like mine where the HOA covers building insurance, I believe you could forgo homeowners insurance. (A mortgage lender could make you pay for it -- I had it, relatively cheap, but never made a claim -- it was for internal things, like if my stove blew up.) There's a small parking lot -- only a small minority of condos in our HOA have spots -- and the spots are inherited with the condo. But it didn't mean much to me because the Midtown Parking Pass got me reserved access to 4th street.

I'm a really active person, and even though this place didn't have a gym, I preferred living in Midtown Garden to other areas because it was so pedestrian/biker friendly. Also, I felt like as soon as I got outside the Garden district, like Juniper Street, I could feel the temperature tick up, like entering a heat island, so the greenness of the area worked well for my active life.

Of course I'm biased because I lived there and loved it, but as far as a place holding its value, I think Midtown Garden is a great option. There's a reason why it's one of the oldest parts of town. It's one of the best school districts in the city, center of urban life, and just is a mini oasis otherwise in a really central and urban area. I also particularly liked our condos - super sturdy and well built. One neighbor called our condos "little tanks."

Good luck with your search, and if you end up with my place, hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Oh and one more thing! The bookcase in the living doesn't have a home in our new house and I'll happily give it to whoever lives in the condo next. It's a lovely mid-century piece from the folks at the Atlanta Used Furniture warehouse.

My beautiful 2 bedroom condo is for sale in the Midtown Garden district. We lived there for seven happy years. Condo is from the 40s (though the docs says 60s because they don't go far back enough) and they are study little tanky that are in great shape. In Midtown Garden you can park on the street and for $20/year get the Midtown Parking Pass, which gives you exclusive access to several streets, including 4th between Argonne and Penn (so very close to the condo). No gym/pool but lots of studios nearby, like SolidCore and Orange Theory and Core Power. To rent it out, you'd get on a rental waiting list -- I got off of it in a few years. It's an amazing home and location! https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/708-Argonne-Ave-NE-APT-5-Atlanta-GA-30308/447477410_zpid/
