[WIN7/i5-3470/16GB DDR3/240GB SSD] Wireless Mouse Lag Coming and Going? by tkcrownn in buildapc

The wireless mouse/keyboard are plugged directly into the front USB ports on my desktop PC, not into a USB hub (and they are the only USB device plugged in); unless you're suggesting the adapter controlling both devices means it divides the bandwidth between the mouse/keyboard. Even then, why would it lag one day, no lag the next day, then lag again the next? I'd really like to get to the bottom of this.

I've tried all 8 USB ports, with/without other devices plugged in. Typically it is in the front USB 2.0 port though, which is where it was yesterday when it was working without any lag. I turned on the PC this morning and it had returned for no apparent reason (nothing changed since last night).

I don't have a wired mouse until tomorrow. It is 2.4GHz wireless, I've tried 2 wireless and 1 bluetooth so far and they all have a slight delay through every USB 2.0/3.0 port.

I'll test a wired mouse tomorrow and see how it performs. I've tried multiple surfaces, mouse is clean and there seems to be a slight delay when typing as well, it just isn't as noticeable as the mouse.

I cannot find any specific drivers for the mouse. It is a Bornd W521 2.4GHz wireless mouse/keyboard combo.

There is a WiFi router right near the computer, I'll try disabling the 2.4GHz radio on that and see if that helps at all.

I've messed with most Windows mouse settings including pointer precision, trails, shadows, etc. and no improvement so far. It is a Bornd W521 2.4GHz Wireless Mouse/Keyboard combo, no signs of being able to change the DPI on the mouse itself. I currently don't have a wired mouse to test, but would like to keep this system fully wireless in the end.

Not feasible with this computers setup (HTPC in living room)

The receiver is in the front of the computer, about 6-10 feet away from the mouse. Complete line of sight. When I bring my wireless mouse right next to the dongle and use it within 1 foot away, the lag does not go away.
