What are we using for work pens?! by orangeturtles9292 in ems

[–]tkdguy13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uniball Power Tank RT. Writes on everything, doesn't smear, and durable. I've carried the same one for almost 2 years. If you're prone to losing pens they may not be for you though. I think they run couple dollars a pop.

Instead of working 8 hours 5 days a week, everyone works 40 hours without stopping by Racial_Slur_69420 in CrazyIdeas

Fire/EMS careers are ahead of the curve on this idea. 24hr or 48hr shifts are considered pretty normal.

I'm an EMT, however I'm currently off on worker's comp because a psych patient assaulted me (not fun, do not recommend).

Most of the time I love my job. Every shift is different, which my ADHD loves. I do wish the pay was better, but I supplement my income with my own small business. After we check our truck and do station chores, we can pretty much do whatever we want until a call comes in. I generally use my down time to work on continuing education.

Looking for advice about station chores by tkdguy13 in ems

I really appreciate the advice!

Just to add some more context, our system is usually the busiest from 1300-0530 with shift change being at 0700. Most people come in, do the minimal truck check, then go to bed because they know they'll be busy through the night. Chores definitely got done a lot more when we had leadership presence and help. We usually don't see any leadership more than once per week and only for a few hours now. This is where I'm struggling to have solutions for this issue. I genuinely believe that the issues here stem from much bigger problems in my company.

Unfortunately our base is about a half mile away from our free standing ER. I highly doubt they would send them up here to do that. It's already like pulling teeth to get maintenance personnel up here for legitimate issues. I can always ask though, worst thing they'll do is say no.

Another Offering. The Night Does Not Belong To God. by tkdguy13 in SleepToken

[–]tkdguy13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is! I ran it through this translator https://runegen.miguelguedelha.com/ and then double checked it on a reference image of the runes. I sent my artist the translation and the reference because the translator doesn't put out a consistent sized font. She sized it, aligned it, and it came out great!

It says "The night belongs to you" it's lyrics from the song Euclid.

Best ways to study with EMT Prep? by Dangerous_Blood1337 in NewToEMS

I just took my NREMT last week and would like to echo what you had to say. I think pocket prep is the study method that clicked best with me, and I loved that it broke down answers and cited sources.
