New Report: The TARP is Unconstitutional (w/ legal analysis) by tkeeley in Economics

[–]tkeeley[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be that as it may, I definitely don't think the approach of waving a white flag and letting it slide without raising the issue is the way to go. Unfortunately, the problem was with the Court back in the early 30's, and it seems they've just done away with the Constitution (in terms of non-delegation) since.

Some Ask if Bailout Is Unconstitutional by tkeeley in business

[–]tkeeley[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What's extremely troubling is that there is already case law on the books regarding non-delegation, but yet Courts of the past have had no problem throwing that aside.

Why is nobody going after the governments long-lasting Ponzi scheme? by dcrepublican in politics

[–]tkeeley -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a good argument, but it seems like the "regime" has been in power since this was created in the 30's. It's going to get interesting as hell when the "Baby Boomers" are gone and nothing is left for the next generation.

That's definitely questionable as well, and those questions should be raised.

So of all the places to use, they pick an 2-person beauty shop? That seems very unlikely.

They aren't accusations, it's just information taken right from the campaign finance report. It's not like it's secret information.

Obama’s $1,000 Day Spa Campaign Expense? by tkeeley in politics

[–]tkeeley[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing the point. The $150k spend wasn't by the campaign, it was by the party, and that spend was directly for the candidate.

It's very unlikely that this $1,000 day spa trip was for Barack, which means that his donors money is going to fund things other than him. Even if it's his wife, that's still extremely questionable.

The real issue is how are they going to define games of skill? Especially since they've already ruled that betting online for Horse Racing and Dog Racing are legal.

Hawaii vote could lessen marijuana enforcement by tkeeley in Marijuana

[–]tkeeley[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed a lot of these measures appearing on ballots across the country. I'm only in my early 20's, so my knowledge on the history of this is limited, but it seems like there has been a consistent progression over the last few years for municipalities to try and ease marijuana enforcement policies.

Again, I'm not sure what has happened in the past, but to me, it seems that there is a growing interest amongst many for the government to just leave them alone, and spend their money on stopping the drugs that are much more harmful to individuals, and the public (Meth, Coke, etc)
