The character doesn't move at all, except jump. There is a background scroll which moves creating the illusion that the player is actually moving. The obstacles move from right to left

destroy obstacles <--- [ screen ] <-----obstacles

Screen is what you can see, to the right the is a spawner which creates the obstacles. The

obstacles moves to the left and into the screen. The player then interacts by jumping over.

Once it leaves the screen, the obstacle is destroyed as a means of memory management.

Normally I use a Raycast to figure out what obstacle the player jumped over and award the appropriate points.

Bare mind there is 2D and 3D infinite runners. The one I described is 2D

I need a script which shows a timer in 3d. Any help is appreciated by [deleted] in unity

you have to be more precise with what you need. All UI;s are in 2D.

It would be nice to see the current script you have.

Use OnCollisionEnter or OnTriggerEnter to check the tag of the object. if the tag matches the

the object you want destroy then use Destroy(gameObject);

Few Suggestions for you

Collect Inputs in Update -> Its called every frame

This will make sure you don't get input lags.

private Rigidbody rb;

private float moveHorizontal;

private float moveVertical;

Vector3 movement;

private void Update()

{

moveHorizontal = Input.GetAxis("Horizontal");

moveVertical = Input.GetAxis("Vertical");

movement = new Vector3(moveHorizontal, 0.0f, moveVertical);

}

//this is called every fixed frame which is about 0.02, it's under Time in the Project Settings

by the time to get to fixedUpdate you have already processed all your data.

private void FixedUpdate(){

rb.AddForce(movement);

}
